Damn Mark, you're the first 99 TL tranny failure that I know. How many miles do you have on it? What do you mean by slipping hard in 1st and 2nd?
Sorry to hear about it but I hope it's an isolated incident. It may take from a few days to a few weeks depending if they have any extra 99 TL tranny lying around.
Have fun driving around the mercury sable.

Yeah Binh....That's what Wayne said. First 99. Just slipping hard in 1st and 2nd. Hopefully they have a 99 tranny somewhere...I hope it is under warranty.... Oh I might do my body kits since they may have it for so long...What do you think?
Anyway, I let you know what's up tommorrow....They are check my ride out tommorrow..

That sux, i was having a problem getting my car from drive to reverse or park. It would just get stuck in neutral and the indicator on the dash would not light up. The straw that broke the camels back was when i was driving home one day and then all of a sudden all the dash lights came on and the tranny wouldn't shift from the gear it was in, when i pulled over and came to a stop the car stalled out because the rpms were too low. When i restarted the car, the check engine light came on and so did my TCS light. I brought the car to the dealer. They changed the shift linkage cable, and the solenoid. I know it was electrical because the tranny was shifting really smooth. Then they said that a group of wires were rubbing against a plastic tab that actually chewed through after years of rubbing. It finially did the trick and cut part of a wire and that cause soem malfunctions and misreads in the computer. They changed everything out for me and reprogrammed my computer and my car was as good as new.

WHOA!!! I just came back from dropping my car off at Park Avenue Acura! I went in for tranny slippage from 1st to 2nd gear. It rev's up to 4-5000 before it switches gears. Also, there is no power going to the wheels at that point. It happened a couple of times in the last few weeks. Thats weird that two 99's went in within 2 days for the same thing.

Damn... I feel tranny problems happening in my car...
Hella sucks. I don't even drive hard! When shes cold she'll shift real hard from 1-2 and 2-3, even though I accelerate ultra-slowly when shes cold, still does it.

After having 3 transmissions replaced. One due to accident. My current transmission is not working that well, but nothing serious. It hard shift sometimes and it stutters from R -> D and back. Some times I feel is takes a while to pass the power to the wheels.
Since my car is out of warranty, I'm trying this product that so far seems like a gift from god. Will see how it performs in the long run. The transmission is so smooth and no more stuttering or slip.
I don’t want to mention the product, because is too early to tell how good it is and I don’t recommend anything until I’m sure is the best.

I have a 2000 and am starting to feel a hesitation when I press tha accelerator. It feels like this. I am cruisin at idle press the gas and instead of a smooth gradual transition, it kind of does a small thump that I think only I notice as the driver. I never noticed it before and am starting to worry. Has anyone expeienced something like this? I have 20,000 miles now.

This blows. So what is the fix for this? Are they just swaping the tranny to cover warrenty or have they addressed the problem and the new tranny is free from this defect? I think this is an unusual amount of transmissions going bad for so little mileage.
