It is legal to sell 2002 year models after Jan 1,2001. It has to meet my (model year)2002 standards however, so this is why many manufactures put off the new model.

 

I have yet to figure this out, cars are getting released earlier every year. Soon I will be able to get a 2003 model in July of 01.

I'm with you, it makes no sense. you can buy a car late in the model year and have it "2 years old" in a few months. That sucks.

I got my 2000 TL in December '99 and by March '00 the 2001's were out.

The president of Honda/Acura probably has one, so MCHTYPES probably did see one. However, the rest of us have to wait. The TL / TL-S is not even going to be built until the 1st week of March, probably not at dealers until the 2nd week at the earliest. No dealer has any to sell to the public, so don't sweat it. If you're not sure about this, call any dealer. If that doesn't satify you, call Acura corporate. Also, check out this thread ( http://www.acura-tl.com/ubb/Forum14/HTML/000202.html ). It tells you build dates for people who pre-ordered as far back as last summer. BTW, look at your calender, it's 2/28.... within 2 weeks they should be arriving at your dealer!! It's almost here, so everyone will start seeing them soon!

I bought one over the weekend and saw the delivery sheet that the dealer had. First production run was 02/19 with a delivery date no later then 03/16. The salesman expects it to arrive the first week of march tho based on the past two shipments he received.

 

What?!?! You have a 2002 already? You serious or do you mean you have a 2001?

Talked to a salesman @ Southern Motors Acura in Savannah today. He said their 1st shipment is in transit. Allotment will be 2 black a blue & a wdp/parchment. I'm going to decide between the blue & wdp.
