If you don't mind could you tell me what the thread on the bottom is? I'd like to try to make some out of wood to match the trim.

Thanks

The screw acura use is like a nail type screw (very coarse thread).
I searched all over hardware stores including home depot and I can't find the right size.
What I did was drilled a 19/64 or 1/4 inch hole and inserted a plastic plugs that I got from home depot. Do you know what is plastic plug? It is a plug that insert into wood or concrete for screwing. Go to home depot and go to the nut and bolt aisle and ask the guy for plastic plug. They have so many sizes and the one I use is green or blue and it's about 1 5/8 inches long.
Good luck

Thanks, I'll go look for the plugs, I practically live at Home Depot anyway with all the other home projects I am working on.

I am actually going to see if me father-in-law will make them for me. He does a lot of wood turning, bowls, mugs that sort of thing. He has a lathe that he paid $5k for. I have the burlwood interior trim so I am guessing Mahagony for the reddish-brown color. He may have some other suggestions. For a black interier he would probably use Ebony wood, I don't know of any other woods that are black. Just use something hard and then seal it with a good polyurethane.

Where can I get Mahagony or Ebony wood?

Look at a local newstand for magazines on wood turning/crafting. There are ads for companies that sell wood blanks in all kinds of exotic woods.

Another source might be a local custom wood molding company, they might have scrap pieces that you could get cheap.

you need a wood with a clear coat on it so it can kind of match.

hchhon: Here are some websites for places that sell wood blanks for turning. You should be able to find most anything at one of these.

You must think we are really stupid Harmony(hchhon). Do us a favor, come up with a better user name and maybe we'll play this game with you.
