New Keys?

What are my options for new keys for my TLS?

My key and fob look horrible. I noticed you can buy new keys and fob's off of Ebay... Is it a scam or does it really work?

I'm pretty sure you can get the ones off Ebay if the fcc id is the same as yours and program them yourself. I've never got the keys before, give it a shot if they don't cost too much.

My dealer quoted me $450 for a new key and fob...

And they are always rude, asking me, "Well did you buy the car from us?" No lady, I bought it at Brookshires.

My dealer sucks too. If I'm not mistaken, if you already have two keys, you can program the new key your self.

If you buy a blank key it has to be laser cut and encoded. Its pretty costly at the dealer. I made it part of my deal when I bought the car because I knew it would be expensive.

I don't know what dealer you guys go to but its $150 for key and fob plus $94/1 hour of labor to reprogram it. Or you could just buy the key and fob and program it yourself. If you search the forums someone posted the instructions on programing the remotes.

lol its like real long time ago, and my dad took me to dealer. So we asked them to make a copy of the key and the remote too and make them work too. So we were waiting and drinkin coffe and sht. So later like 30 minutes, they came out. It costed my dad 340 for everything. My dad was like wtf just for the remote and the dame key ?
I mean the lexus dealer costs less then that, lol stupid me
