New Guy With a Brake Question...

I've been reading the forum for a few days and just registered. I pretty much agree that the OEM Acura brake rotors are pretty bad, so I'm going to try a set of Napa Ultra Premium rotors for the front.

My question is what about the back rotors? You know when the front rotors are warped, i.e. steering wheel shake, pulsating stops, etc., however what about the rear rotors?

Any signs to look out for?

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure you get a pulsing if the rears are warped too.

an 02 is probably on its 2nd set of rear pads,,and the rear rotors are so cheap,
You may as well replace them now

DO: FLUSH the brake fluid before doing the rest of the brake work
that prevents backwasahing of crud into the main lines,
then back out again during flush afterwards

should change brake fluid every 1-3 years
special TL bleed order is LF RF RR LR
please see our brake diy for more help

Steering wheel won't pulsate if the rears are warped but the rest of the car will. You will definitely feel it through the seat.

You can also chack the black market in the sponsored/group sales section. Some of the vendors have packages you can get from heeltoe or excelerate performance and other companies to.

I completed the work yesterday...

I installed four new Michelin Primacy MXV4 tires (replaced the dealer-installed Michelin Pilot MXM4s) and had them balanced and aligned. The front passenger tire was off.

I also installed new rotors and pads all around and flushed/installed new brake fluid. I went with the Napa Reactive One Ultra Premium rotors in the front and the Napa Ultra Premium rotors in the back. I also installed the Napa ceramic pads.

The original front OEM rotors lasted 140K miles, however they were resurfaced twice. The second set of OEM front rotors were installed and only lasted 6K miles before they began to warp and needed to be resurfaced.

The car now has 180K miles and drives like it's brand new. Hopefully these Napa rotors will perform better than the OEM rotors.
