Exclamation New 3 piece wing!!!

Whats goin on guys? Over the weekend I had the chance to have a new 3 piece wing test fitted on my car. Azine member InspireBySD hooked me up with this guy in Brooklyn who fabbed the wing. Just wanted to get some input on your thoughts or suggestions. The wing is not painted yet so it may seem out of place on the car, plus it's not on there perfectly, we just threw it on to get some pics, but I think it looks pretty good.

It's not a mugen rep, the only resemblance is the fact that its a 3 piece wing, other that that its totally different. It doesn't have a point to it, it's more rounded and theres no upward angle.

I think if there is enough interest InspireBySD might try to get a GB going. I think its $175 regular retail, but I got mine for free

Onto the pics....

So or ?

Meh I give props for makin new things but this just looks like a overly huge m3/m5 trunk lip slapped on. The only 3 piece wing there should be is the mugen/mugen rep one.

Those were my first thoughts as well but I figured wth its free, might as well just try it. The mugen rep looks better, but at $105 less then the rep, this is a good alternative. It looks really good in person.

The last 2 pics appear the best.
Perhaps if it was mounted back a tad more.....and follow the rear fender's accent sculpture line over the edge ?

Would be unique !!!!

I have mixed opinion on this one, it looks better at certain angles, personally I like the oem spoiler, with that top spoiler thats extremely hard to find.

Looks good i bought my Roof Wing off the same guy took it to get painted waiting on getting it back. I like it as an alternative since the Mugen wing is super hard to find

I like it. I always wished my cheapie M3-like trunk spoiler was a little longer and just a tad more prominent. The Mugen is still nicer, but this is a nice, much cheaper alternative.

This. Post pics of the painted, finished product. I'm sure it'll look great.

Not bad. I still think 175 is bit too much though.

Hello all,

Thank you Kevin for posting this.

Of course there are some pros and cons to this replica. Again, I'm working a deal for a group buy. This is just the first one and it will look more or less the same. I just got off the phone with my friend. The point is not to replica the Mugen but create something different and unique in its own way. I know that everyone will have their taste but this will be an option in the next two months. Currently, other products are being worked on first and this is on the list. But, I will start another thread to get an estimate of how many people are interested in the buy. There are also two roof spoilers and there will be a package deal. We are waiting and calculating the time and materials that is needed for each product.

This is an estimate price for the 3 piece wing $175 but with a group buy it should go down (probably $150-120). One of the roof spolier is $99 but this will also go down with group buy also ($70-50). These are not set prices but its my goal to push it down as much as I can but it solely depends on how many people I can get to a committed buy.

I will start another thread with more detail pictures and prices when the product is fully completed.

Thank you for all comments so far and keep them coming. I'm accounting all comments. Remember that the goal is to make something different and unique. This would be a great alternative considering the Mugen doesn't exist anyone (all of us can't keep waiting for someone to give up theirs) and there is the Mugen replica also. But, we are just trying to expand the market and options. Thanks!

This is exactly what I was thinking about. Its not mounted far enough on the trunk. It needs to cover the edge of the trunk, this was just a test fit though. After it is painted, I'll try to mount it further back.

I have a JDM spoiler sitting under my bed for the longest now. I never put it on cauz I didn't want to drill holes in the trunk lol

Can you post pics of the roof spoiler when its installed? I was supposed to get one the day I went for the test fit, but he didn't have any. I'm concerned about the fitment around the windshield.

It'll be cheaper with the GB

Agreed. But this mini version won't break the bank lol

When it was mounted I thought the fitment was fine because at certain angles it looks really good. However when I looked at the pics, I noticed it has to move back more. Hopefully I can move it back on the final install.

Looks nice. Closer to the trunk edge and it would sit real nice. I'm interested in a GB if it happens. If not, I would like to look into this anyway. I'm located in BK too and also in search for a good body shop that can install my type s lip kit and fix a few dents in my doors before paint. Any info is appreciated

Production of the spoiler should be in the beginning of March. Prices will be available by then. Group buys are also not out of the question.

thanks!

since you're able to produce 3 piece wings, why not trying to produce a front lip or lip kits for us... not OEM style

That's a great idea since we don't have really any options besides finding a used one.

Looks nice, I would like to see a picture of how it would look from a side angle with the camera shot leveled with the wing. This would give a better idea of the height of the wing and the wing angle.

I posted the pics here

I love the way it looks and is way cheaper then trying to source a sorona or even replicas. He's a good dude and very helpful. I ordered mine on a Wednesday Morning he had it at my house by Thursday afternoon, but Ny is only a 3hr drive

Yea let us know!
I have just been browsing around for a roof spoiler and can only find them in $100+ range.
Also I second the lip idea.
But I would DEFINITELY be in for a rear one that is flush and looks good enough so we dont have that 'Ass is high' look the rest of the car doesnt flow with.

Well if you didn't have a wing to begin with then definitely go with this 3piece. I personally like my TL-S wing though. None the less, this will look a lot better when you're done!

I think I'm the only one with the wing at this moment, but I'm pretty sure dudes gunna produce more based on interest. He needs to start a GB thread to see how many people will actually commit to buying one.

I have a wing, a JDM one, but its not mounted yet. Call me crazy but I'm not to fond of the look. So instead of drilling the holes in the trunk, I decided to try this one out. Problem is that I'm waiting on my roof spoiler before I can paint and install this one. I don't wanna sell the JDM spoilier before I install this 3 piece in the event that I don't like this look either. After all this trouble, I might just keep it wingless

I haven't even gotten this thing painted yet. I was trying to sourse an oem kit so I can paint and install all parts at once, but no dice on the kit yet. I might have to setttle on a WW kit.

As far as the GB goes, I'm still waiting on a roof spoiler from the same guy but he's backed up with other work, so dunno when that's gunna happen.
