You should always replace bulbs in pairs as was said, esp HID's. HID's lose some light output over time so putting in a new bulb will make them look different. I also recommend KAIXEN bulbs. They are a great OE replacement for the factory bulbs.

The OE replacement 4300ks are ok until you drive a car with newer bulbs and technology
I know everyone says that higher light output color rating doesnt throw as much light on the ground- but in the case of the Kaixen bulbs- with whatever gas and technology they are using, they work SO much better than the OE bulbs its unreal.
Other cars- and my truck with super blue (legal) bulbs, are weak and brown in light on the road and in color comparison.
Only a very high end car has the same output.
People get out of the way on the freeway during the day now too- but thats because my ebay xenon hi-beams make the hi beam reflector box appear blue when the lights are off---looks like you know who~ ~ is coming up behind you
A brighter, overall whiter light ,with a blue tint that calms it down
Makes road signs and lane markings and the white reflecto- tape on semi trucks show up big time
The first night I had them in- drove 30 minutes freeway and residential, as I was thinking how well they were picking out things I usually dont see, I felt my glasses in my shirt pocket.
I had just driven 30 minutes at night- seeing better than ever- with no glasses
That is some serious headlight power!!!
I like the color so much I found outdoor security lights for the house with the same 6000k rating~
You can get 5000k from Excelerate too, but I like the 6s just fine- thank you Josh!!
Worth every penny I had to save up to get the best-
go figure =

I did a lot of reading about Kelvin ratings before replacing my bulbs and the consensus was that the OEM 4300K bulbs put the most useable light on the road. I found a great web site with a detailed discussion of this very topic and I'll see if I can dig it up again.
And there have been several forum member reports that 6000K bulbs were noticeably less bright than 4300K bulbs and that the reduction was even more severe in the rain. Have you been able to try your new bulbs in the rain yet?

Here's a link to the excellent discussion for HID lights and bulb Kelvin ratings that I mentioned above:

And here's a quote from that link:
...4100K has been proven through tireless independent research by the Germans, Japanese, and Americans to be the most functional, truest white and thus the brightest possible color temperature (ceteris paribus).

Every car manufacturer in the world (including BMW and Audi) uses none other than a standard 4100K gas-discharge bulb. No exceptions. The reason being is that 4100K is daylight white in color and produces the same color visible light as direct sunlight. This is least fatiguing functional color on the eyes and produces the most comfortable contrast on the road.
