I Can't Remove The Shift Knob

My Shift Knob on my 2000 Acura TL 5 speed automatic trans will not come off it spins around in circles but won't move up or down.



please help

by the way it is drivable like this, but the crack looks like crap.

Just keep trying to turn it. By what you said, are you saying that there is a crack in your shift knob?

yes there is a crack on the top. on the fake wood...plastic

i've continued to turn for atleast 5 minutes proably more

only thing that happens is black plastic shavings come out.

sounds like the knob is broken, you may have to cut it off.....

Pull upwards while turning to force the threads out of their stripped location.

HEy thanks for all the help. I finally got it off. Apparently mine was some type of replacement for the OEM.

You had to unscrew the medal ring then take out allen screws the unscrew it.

The knew light up aftermarket one looks awesome.

I figured out how to get it off. You have to unscrew the metal ring on the botton. Then use an allen wrench to unscrew the to screws, then un screw the knob.

It only took three weeks to figure out.
