Question NAVI Interface question

I am a complete newbie, but I am curious . . . I bought a 200 TL and it had the 1.09 Navi software, I was told when I got new software it would change the look of my interface. I bought the 2.05 and It looks exactly the same. I want the look of the 2003-04 TL's does the 2.11c provide that or am i wasting my money again?

There is no software available to change the look of the interface on the 2nd gen TLs, and it's unlikely there ever will be. The new software only updates the road database and the POI database. It would require a hardware change to get the new interface.

I was just goofin' around....

2.11c looks pretty much like 2.04 and probably 2.05.

What is it exactly then that controls the interface? Does it really require a "full swap" of the system?

As far as I know, DVD does contain code for interface, but it is hardware specific - new version 3.x DVDs will not work in our system, only version 2.x.
