Navi Conversion

I am looking for some help/ advice. I have all necessary parts to do the converison (antenna, screen, brain, disc, etc.) I have an '02 TL-S and I got everything out of an '03 that a tree fell on. WHen I say everything, I mean FULL electrical harnesses and fuse blocks. Should I go through the trouble of switching out the harnesses as opposed to employing the 'splice' method in order to get a cleaner job?

and 2) what is involved in doing so if anyone has done the whole harness change? where to start? take out the whole dash or what

TIA,
Charlie

not sure what is involved and if the dash harness is different or not but its quite involved to remove it (ie you need to take the whole dash out to do it)

The splice method will probably be alot faster

Not sure if you have seen this DIY???

While removing the dash isnt too terribly hard, it taks some time and a 2nd person. its alot of work just to put in a different harness. the rest of the wiring dash back wouldnt be hard to replace.

What I would do is this.

Plug the harness into the navi units. Trace all the wires from the brain to the navi unit, from the ac controls to the navi unit...so forth and so on.

Figure out which wire you need and gently pull them out of the harness with the pins attached. Then all you'd have to do is push the wire with the pin into your existing harnesess and you're done.

I think you should just splice the wires in that are needed. The wires for the nav are spider webbed throughout the entire car and I am not sure if it would be worth the time to try and replace all the harnesses.
