I'M SORRY

I think everyone took this the wrong way. I did not mean for this to be a post against Tim. I know it was not his fault. I just wanted to know if the way i wanted this to happen was unfair towards him and I was being greedy. I was a little upset about the long shipping the first time, but I was not informed it was on back order. I'm sorry for any trouble I possibly caused Tim or the rest of you fellow members. Tim has been very cooperative and quick to respond.

Now Tim wants me to send him the filter and he will send me another, which is fair, but I dont want to wait another two and a half weeks. I feel he should send it first day air, or refund the amount of a filter so I can get one local. Or allow me to use the damaged filter until the new one arrives(It is useable just dented). What do yall think?
the customer is always right do what you feel should be done bro

I don't know about customer always being right. I am sure Tim did not send you a bad filter on purpose. Was the package damaged in anyway when you received it? If it was it should be the carrier's fault not Tim's.

Yeah I agree....Tim is a great guy but usually when something is damaged...you send the damaged part back first and they send you a new one..that's how it usually goes. Like I said..just ask Tim to send it First Day Air....he will.

if you're patient and willing to wait, just use the damaged filter (ask Tim first, but take pictures of it first so that he can verify that is is damaged), and then have him ship it normally so that he doesn't have to pay for high shipping charges.

Regardless of whose fault it is, as a supplier, Tim should take ultimate responsibility. As a business owner myself, I know that when one of my shipments gets screwed up somehow, my customers don't give a rat's ass whose fault it was but they damn sure expect me to fix it. If I took the attitude of "it's not my fault", I wouldn't have that customer for long. I'm sure Tim would agree as I have gotten nothing but the best customer service from him.

Re: My order from Tim

I don't think that this problem needs to be "voted" on by members of this forum. This problem is between you and Tim. Since he is willing to do something about it, you should be addressing your problem's/concerns to him privately. Unless he is ripping you off or "screwing you over" in a deal, it should remain between the two of you. Even though we all trust Tim, some new members reading this may not be so forgiving.

Let's face it, Tim is not Buy.com. Small businesses sometimes set different customer service policies than big companies because they'd go broke if they didn't. I wouldn't be happy if it happened to me, but if I ordered through a small business I'd just live with it or pay for the shipping myself. I mean really, it's not like two weeks is going to kill you - it's a mod not a critical part needed to keep the the car running.

i agree it's between you and tim and no one else, but logically speaking...

if anything it was probably damaged during shipping...the proper procedure was to open the package in their presence of the delivery person prior to signing it off (so that is partially your fault). of course every one blames the seller...it's normal, but not fair and i am sure tim is going to do his best to correct the problem as quick as possible. now if you use the filter, tim cannot get reimbursed for it...so this option is no good. if you want to send the filter back for partial refund, you are more than likely going to get the COST (not retail!) back which may or may not cover the price of the new filter...sometimes it too is hard to place a value of a single part when the item is multi-piece. moreover, you still have to wait for tim to get the filter before he will refund money to you. now if tim has a replacement filter in stock, you are set! i doubt if you have installed it yet, so just wait a lil longer.

so was i LOGICAL?!?!?!

Did you even e-mail/PM Tim about this matter? This is between the two of you. Like someone said, a newbie might take this the wrong way.

Personally, I have met Tim and so have a lot of other members and he is one of the nicest guy out there. He has gone above and beyond what is needed to make all of us happy with our orders (majority here will back me up on this one).

BTW, more than likely the filter probably got damaged during shipping. So just send it back and wait for the new one. Two and a half weeks is not going to kill you.

chill man. first tim would never send out damaged stuff, so it must be due to the shipping. with that in mind i would never really push tim for anything. i will ask him about rushing me a second one and that makes a lot of sense to me

couple weeks ago i got the type s mats from tim, but i got the wrong color. i immediately email tim when i got the mats. while afraid that there would be restocking fee and so, he was nice enough to ask me just send back the mats and he will cross ship another set to me asap.

i couldn't say enough how good a dealer tim is. he knows what customer service is and he is very nice and polite. he always do things within reason, and i believe if you are being reasonable there are always room for discussion.

and yeah, email him about the issue

This is between you and Tim and no one else. Tim's a pro and he'll take care of you. This isn't something that needs voting on.

Come on!! Give Tim a chance. He got your part you ordered right! Parts get damaged all the time during shipping. You would be surprised it happens alot. Give Tim a chance to get you a replacement. Don't put a bunch of unnecessary restrictions on the guy just because your part got bashed around by some ape at the shipping company. I feel for you because once you order a mod we get so stocked about getting it and when you open the box and it is all smashed. So is your feelings! Just give Tim a heads up and he'll fix it. No need to put a forum poll about your problem.

mbeebe I do not know why this is a post. As soon as you emailed me and told me you had received a damaged filter I replied back, and told you we would take care of it.
But I would like to clear up a couple things about your post

First, it took 2 1/2 weeks to get your order, as the part you order was on back order with AEM when your order was placed.

And I don't know why you would think you would have to wait another 2 1/2 weeks for your filter It would only take a couple days for you to receive it...

Normally our policy is, we would have you send the part back to us, and once we receive it, we send you out the replacement and we also reimburse the customer for the return shipping.

This was not acceptable to you, so I said to ship it back and just give me the tracking # and then I would ship out the filter.

I'll await your email with this.

I vote you get a grip and quit posting useless crap - you'll be on your own around here if ya think bustin' Tim's chops will get you anywhere. He treat's his customers better and is more responsive than any other automotive place that I've dealt with. If you think treating people like this will get you anywhere in the future your wrong, it does nothing but make you look like an a$$.

the easiest thing to have done would have been to just order and pay for another and get the refund on the first when it were received...i bet tim would have no problem with that...

Tim Send it regular

Why should time fork over high shipping for 1 day shipping.

If you originally bought it with regular shipping tim should send it regular shipping. If you paid extra to have it shipped to you in one day then tim should send it again one day.

U are not special. If tim send every order 1 day shipping he is not a nice guy, he would then be ignorant. Since that type of business model will not service in the real world
