^^that's what he said. i figured why buy a non type s when i won't be using it long, and just see if i can have this ECU to hold me out before i do swap.

yes it's an AUTO type S ECU. i figured i'd probably get a check engine light maybe for IMRC and it might not like that i don't have VSA. I thought the ECUs were all the same pins?? I'd just like to enjoy some a/c before i do this swap.

only thing with that vsa, tranny/engine might go into limp mode, idk, but it won't hurt it though, just does not run the best and suck that gas down in the process

as far as pinouts, they might have changed some of them though, because of adding the runner control and the VSA, so you might have to repin the connector in order for it to work properly (and not fry anything)

so i had the interior apart today because i was installing the isimple soundbyte adapter (i just bought an ipod touch) and i figured, hmmmm. i got the ecu back from richie, so why not try things out. i was feeling dangerous, so i pulled back the carpet and removed my ecu, looked at the two and they looked EXACTLY the same, minus the part numbers of course. so i said what the hell plugged in the new one. she started up just fine, the a/c works!!! the only problem i see is TCS light is on now, but who the hell cares about that?

you should know as well as i know tcs only engages ~<20mph's

the stock ECU is going back in for baseline dyno on saturday, i don't want the higher redline in the type s ecu to blow out my engine!

i know it's in the owners manual, (i don't happen to have a copy of that at this moment) i need to install adobe acrobat so i can open up the service manual, i'm sure it's in there too.

fsttyms1 will vouch for me though.

i think VSA is an always on thing. i could be wrong. i only have a 2000 so i know nothing about VSA
