Sorry to hear about your loss, Im in NJ also and my headlights got nabbed twice all-ready. I'm not too far from irvington also, scary..
U should try selling some of the parts, what salvage lot is your TL-S at?
I dont belive they didnt take certain things but stole others?
Was it found on like a side street in a abandon parking lot?

People were talking about how they probably did it in the thread. Just read through it its somewhere in there. In short they were thinking they broke in, popped the hood, and then disconnected the battery.

Doesn't popping the hood set the alarm off though? And IDK about you, but an alarm at that hour would wake me up.

hi guys... my car was jacked last night in linden. i went in a store came back out (no more than 2 minutes) and poof, gone. they found the car 8 hours later in newark, now its at c&j - any experience with this place? since the place isn't open sat / sun i have to wait till monday.
i also have no idea of the condition of the car - keepin my fingers crossed it's decent... last nite i downpoured almost the whole nite so hopefully they didn't have a chance to mess it up.

damn bro.. sorry for your loss.. those pics.. wow. i'm always scared to park my car whenever i go somewhere because of this same reason.. the fucks around here are plain crazy/ruthless. i'm in the passaic/clifton area where it's not as bad as the orange/newark area but it's still pretty dangerous around here

Traded in my
Damn Project..Im sry for ur loss. I had an 89 Accord jacked from right outta my driveway a few years ago. No engine mods..just a clean car with "low-rider" spoked rims and runnin great at over 300k miles. Jacked just for the rims which didnt even have the caps on em.
People are assholes.
Now my TL-S stays in the garage at all times, and when it can't, the family van is parked behind it with no way for it to leave without a whole lotta shit goin down. Cant be too careful anymore...

waiting till tomorrow
i was hoping that ProjectTLS would tell me respond and tell me which yard his car ended up in...
someone told me that theres alot of corruption there and that sometimes the yards themselves strip the dam cars... lol i think thats funny... you're car survives and is intact, but then the yard strips it and sells it for parts...
i hoping that the car is ok, or is severely stripped, because i don't want to end up with a car that's fixable, but has frame damage etc... what happens if the car is not driveable, who do i do then? do i still have to have it towed? i dont want to pay the storage for the yard

yes defintely dont park your car in newark or surrounding areas
i actually use to work in newark... one time this girl brought an acura legend (few years back)... she went upstairs for like 5-10 minutes, when she came back, the car was on bricks..
if you like your're car, don't bring it to newark... and probably any of the towns right around it.

car found
my car was in basically the same shape i left it in.. brakes a bit worn... otherwise good, except for the interior which was mostly dirty, they apparently smoked a few in my car, and then had the munchies... i just spent the last two hours cleaning... a few things are missing, but i might get them back, because (this is the best news), they caught the person(s) and arrested them...
based on how it happened, and how i found the car, it was some kids already high, buying food for munchies...one of them decides to take my car, on a bad night because it was downpouring, they are so high, that they decide to smoke more in my car, not realizing an apb is out for my car... and also not thinking because they didnt realize that i would notice my car was missing seconds after they took it...
one thing i realized from this, is that the sooner you report, the better... which is obvious but also have your license plate # memorized (which I did), they would have eaten up a valuable 60 more seconds..

dirty jersey
ha - if you guys want a laugh... when i made it to the auto squad in newark, there were 8 people in front of me, out of the 8 , five had their cars stolen within the last few days...
by the time i was second in line another 10 people were behind me... even a priest! mind you, some of them were towed by the city, but at least half were for having their cars stolen.
