My car got stolen 4/12/09 NJ
Yep. Just got back from filing the report. I walk outside to my car planning on going to six flags great adventure, when I noticed a door handle on the floor next to an 08 Sti. The doorhandle from the sti was ripped off and the door was open. Right then and there I realised what happened and I ran over to my car. My parking space was empty with glass on the floor. Sat on the floor for a bit to recollect myself and called the cops. I was recently laid off, and im supposed to be moving back to Texas May 30th driving the car home. I question why these things happen at these times..but I guess who am I to question these things. The last time I saw her was at 7:30pm yesterday 4/11/09 in my parking lot in South Orange, NJ right off south orange ave and rite aid. So between 7:30pm and 9:45 am it was stolen. The car is a 2003 Aegean Blue Pearl TL Type S with TEXAS plates MBW 159. The car is bone stock with only a LED plate light bulb, and no front plate. No tint, with a dont mess with texas sticker on the back windshield. If anyone sees anything, please PM me. This is me and my gfs only car.
This makes me very sad.. I got this car because I decided to get out of the car game because of this type of childish shit. I guess you just cant have a nice car that you work fucking hard for. This was my first time owning a car newer than 1993. I just purchased it in August 08.
Any help will be greatly appreciated, and all tips will be strictly confidential.
Nice way to wake up to Easter Sunday.
thanks

thanks for the support guys..I feel like there has been a death in my family..i really dont even know what to think right now. I have full coverage, but still owe 10.8 on the car. So im worried that if the car isnt found they wont pay what I owe and me SOL for a car. I know these fucking kids just took it for a joy ride since they thought they could steal an 08 Sti, so they went to the next best thing. I kept that car mint so I doubt itll be returned that way.. Worst easter ever.. I guess everything happens for a reason

well on the bright side if it was stolen for a joy ride chances are it will be found. Usually they will just dump it somewhere... now if they stole it for parts... Id be really worried. If any of your friends can help just drive around and try to look for it. If its been dumped after a joy ride it shouldnt be to hard. Dont let the cops do all the work they are just going to run plates.

Even though it may be a shot in the dark an eye is open in RI. It is not a good feeling when you have things taken from you. On this Easter Sunday, I will pray for you that you end up getting your car back in one piece so that you and your girlfriend will be able to go back to Texas. Best of luck with everything!

I'm really sorry someone stole your car. Are you insured?
As bad as it is, it's only a car and it can always be replaced. That doesn't make things better right now and it isn't a feel good statement. In my life time I have come to learn that out of the tough times the good rises. What you make of this crappy situation is up to you. Life will go on, even if you have to rent a car for that one way trip.
Consider this for a moment, instead of just your car missing they'd taken off with your car and your gf. Which would you miss more? Likely your GF. You have your girl friend and she is more important then any car. Be thankful she wasn't there while they were stealing the car, who knows how it would have gone down.
Crappy things happen in our lives and this situation is made worse by the pressures you're feeling by being unemployeed. The good news about that is there are signs the economy is turning around.
So today of all days, look at the good things you have in your life. Have a place to live? A girlfriend who loves you? Friends/family that care about you? Food on the table? Live in a free society? If you have only a few of these you live richly my friend.

Damn man I am so sorry to hear that. I'm so sick and tired of these stupid idiot criminals. I am moving to a sketchy area of ATL, so I will have to be on high alert to make sure no crackheads mess with my baby. I will throw down over this car. Just let someone come fuck with me. Oh hell no.
You are right - everything happens for a reason though, and what's meant to be will happen. I hope you get your car back, because I understand how you feel about it. Just hang in there, and let the police do their work. I don't know how they are up there, but in ATL they are a bunch of lazy no good dickheads that won't put any effort into anything. Hopefully they are better up there. Take car man, and I hope that bastard who stole it gets what he deserves. I'd be happy to give it to him to. BLAM!

WOW...I feel for you too. Some people really value their cars and when something like this happens it makes you feel like crap. Keep your head up. It’ll show up. Just prepare your self for the worst. I’m a cop in PA and have seen the aftermath of joyrides and or when cars are stripped. I only hope for the best for you. GOOD LUCK.

Its ok, hes just a child.
Thanks everyone for the support..its making me feel better more than you guys know. Ill keep everyone updated, but till then I feel like its a slow torture till I hear what happened to it. I pray to God they only wanted a joy ride and I atleast get it back with minimal damage. Anyone know how long till its declared a total loss?

Who know's if they drove it off. Could have busted the window, dumped it in neutral and hauled it away on a tow truck. I'm guessing the STI needed the key to get it out of gear so that was a fail. Our cars dont need keys for the gear lock. You just gotta stick sumthin down the hole and push down and your free to shift. All the best to you buddy and hopefully those cocksuckers will get what they deserve.

I hope this ends well.
On a side note how do they get past the immobilizer? I thought they would not start without the right chip.

stick shift is the easiest to steal, pop the clutch when car is rolling...

damn man that really sucks...Ive grown quite attached to my TL, so I can only imagine how you feel.
Probably wont make you feel any better but 2 years ago I had a similar experience-had a 2001 Camaro SS with only 19,500 miles, wrecked it (smashed a horse fence) trying to avoid hitting a deer one night. I checked it out for damage, wasnt real serious and drove it away. About a mile down the road I noticed orange flickering under the hood, and for some reason the car caught on fire and it burned to the ground. Luckily I made it out alive. Barely got it pulled off the road before it was engulfed in flames. There was nothing left but a steel shell..
Like rob2 said..at least material possessions can be replaced.
Good luck, hope you find your car. Keep us posted.
and BTW-screw that douchebag laughing at your misfortune...his was stupidity, yours was sheer bad luck..
