no special features. Just a basic mint condition ABP TL type s. I know every detail from every part of that car from the intirior, to the wheels, to the body parts. Sucks being unemployed stuck at home all day thinking about what my car is doing right now and what happened that night over and over..

I dont think he knows that. I didnt think it was possible to do that. Has to be towed. Did you have an aftermarket alarm with remote start? I know they wanted to put my key in so they could have the remote start work but i didnt like that idea.

I know how you feel man. I got my 2000 civic Si stolen on Easter Sunday five years ago in my driveway. I hope PD recovers your car in one piece.

hey man from 1 ABP nj owner to another my thoughts are with you. its nice all of the stares you get when youre driving and the color does make the car look much more exotic than it really is, but this is the downside to sticking out i suppose. im in NC right now and find myself in not so nice areas in Raleigh and Durham at times and constantly this fear is in my mind.

keep your head up though, at the end of the day i would be devastated and feel violated much like you probably feel, but the car can be replaced fairly easily, yours and your girlfriend's safety cant. currently me and my gf share my vehicle as well (her 00 tl was sold due to its unreliable condition) so i know how heavily relied upon the car is to you guys and im sure you both have an attachment to it like me an my gf do to mine.

ill be back home in nj on sunday (from central nj) so if i see anything around there ive got you covered. hopefully this mattered is solved before that though. stay safe, and stay positive. i know how it feels to be far from home and family at the moment and its not easy even when things are going well.

when things go wrong it makes you long to be back in your comfort zone and i bet you cant wait for that, much like i cant wait to be back near my family in NJ. i know im distancing from the subject which is your stolen car, but this hits a little close to home because i can picture this being my situation.

anyway, you can always come back to AZ for your moral support haha, and youre not alone with the situation youre in and im sure myself and everyone else here welcome you to pm us with anything if you have questions about the area in NJ or anything else bothering you (though we arent trained professionals) . sorry for the long post ... good luck with everything!

Ah man that sucks, i'm also unemployed at the moment.. dame recession...

My parents got their van stolen about 3 years ago. They purchased it brand new, put about 3-4k on it and it went puff... just recently they found it in PA! Got a chance to look at the car the other day, and it's in pretty good condition but who wants to pay for some one else driving around your new car for 3 years... FBI agent said there was about 7 people arrested for this, and looked like it wasn't the only car they jacked..

Any way, as impossible as this sounds, they might actually recover it..

Sorry to hear about this bro. Hey remember to check Craigslist and local ads just incase their dumb enough to try to sell it. I'll be back in syracuse in about a month so i'll keep an eye out even though its a slim chance it would be up there. Best of luck to you man and remember things could always be worse just gotta keep going forward.

Edit: Just did a quick search on craigslist and I saw you've already posted a stolen add. Its a good start to finding it.

just a thought, isnt the horn supposed to go off when the door is opened? i remember when i first got my car i left the windows down at my buddys house to show him the car. i locked the car out of habit, but opened the car by pulling up on the lock (without the fob) and opening the door, then the horn went off, same goes for the hood. should the horn have gone off when they got into the car?

thanks for all the kind words guys and helping me get through rough times like this..today is a new day and I feel better. It still stings when I think about it, but I can only look forward. Filed a claim with the insurance today and they said as soon as its claimed, its declared a total loss. I just have to wait for the police report in which takes 3 days to process. Im praying the insurance atleast finishes paying off what I owe..even though im going to be out several thousand dollars that I invested in the loan. After this, my next car unfortunanly wont be another 2nd gen TL. I dont think I would wont another 2nd gen to replace mine.. Next car will be a 3rd gen TL in hopes to escape the bad tranny issues. I will keep you guys posted as the news comes. Thanks again, I really appreciate all the kind words. AZ is my fam!

breaking into a TL. the eas way
step 1. break window, sunroof (alarm will not go off)
step 2. have buddy stand by hood with socket wrench
step 3. reach in over broken window and pop hood
step 4. buddy undoes battery terminal
step 5. open door.
step 6. steal whatever you want. or put the car in nuetral for a tow.

jitty always paranoid about my posts n shit

everything i stated is common sense. i just dont want guys walking around thinking they are safe because they have an immobilizer. our stock alarms are crap and everyone should know how easy it is to steal our cars.

like i said to jitty, only way to be safe is to never assume you are safe.

as far as the car being stolen.
im really sorry about it man, it is a headache, it is an inconvenience, it does come at the worse time ever.

but the best lessons in life are never planned and should be appreciated when they arrive.

its just a car.

you been paying insurance for a while, its time they pay you back.

good luck, i hope they dont find it, and you get a nice fat check for your car.
