My 99 went into the bodyshop to get that fixed today, they should'nt give you any problems, all of the salesmen already know that it is a defect.

BTW, to fix the problem they told me they will take off the plastic and paint the moldings, so that it will match perfectly like it was new. And it will take them a couple days to complete

What exactly is the defect? Either I don't have it, or I just don't know what it is. Are you talking about the inside or outside of the window?

It's the black trim around all four windows. The original material is a type of tape, almost like a shrink wrap. It's not something they fix in an hour. I had it repaired under warranty about 2 months ago, and my car had to be at the body shop for 4 days. They have to peel off all the tape around all four windows, sand it, paint it, and apply clear coat.

You can't tell the difference between the tape and the paint. Looks perfect, but the Corolla loaner (Acura rental) made it almost not worth it.

Mine was wrinkled on all four doors. The dealer took the plastic off and painted the area. They said that it will cost them more money and time to take the door apart have that area
re- wrapped, especially if they have to take it off again for wrinkling.

Well I figured it was a common thing being that I saw so many like that but I dont like the idea of having it painted , I guess I didnt realize that it is attached to the sheet metal of the door and NOT over a piece of plastic that could be replaced. I told the salesman today and just hope that it doesnt affect my delivery date .

Its the weirdest thing I just washed my car today and noticed these wrinkles around my windows too. Didn't know it was a real problem until I read this post right now. Will definately take it in now.

Just got mine back from the bodyshop on friday, and now the front windshield rubber molding is coming apart on both sides, has anybody else here had these problems and how long did it take to fix. Also did you have to take it to the bodyshop or dealer to get it fixed.

i think most honda/acura cars have it...can't say if other brands do though.

my bro's 99 accord had it...my 2002 is showing signs on the driver's door. can't recall if my 2000 accord had it though.

Same thing happened to me when I got the side window trim fixed!! Acura gave me a whole new windshield under warranty. Said it's pretty common.

I have mine fix three times since 01/02.They keep replaced the tape and it get worst everytime.screw up all the doors molding..I recomand that if you can stand it don't fix it.once those door molding come out they will not fit back tight again.
(I am going to try another dealer so it will be different boby shop to see if they can do a better job)

They should fix it no matter what, because it is their fault. If not to do window trim on both sides costs around 600-700 hundred dollars, I know this because when I went to pick my car up, the desk lady gave me the invoice bill thinking I had to pay it, but instead was under warranty so it was nothing.
