I was looking through some threads on how to do some mesh grills. I really like this guys. Anywho, I like the black. Can someone tell me the difference between the two 2nd gen TL's. Maybe I just dont understand but, on this other thread this guy said something about not being able to do the mesh on the newer of the 2nd gen tl's. I just dont understand. Does this guy have aftermarket mesh or how is it. I really appreciate yalls help. If you dont understand what I am talking about the difference between the two 2nd gen tl's then dont worry Because I dont want to confuse anyone.

That's a nice grill. I wouldn't mind knowing how to do one too.

 

To me... It seems like all he did was remove the 2 chrome plactic bars that are comthing from the "A" throught the moddle of the grill to the border... That grill is from 99-01. That looks nice, might try it!

I'm about 80 percent sure that was all he did, go look at a grill from a 99-02 ish exactly the same except for the the chome/plastic bar isn't there.

 

If you remove the chrome bar from the 99-01 TLs (02-03 TL have a bigger grill), the grill would not look like that. The Black plastic comes up behind the chrome bars (wings) part and flushes in with the chrome part. It looks messed up if you just remove the chrome part.

 

I agree with you. It would look absolutly weird. I dont know how he did it. I have an 00 TL and it just doesnt look right. Oh well I will figure out something. Any idea's on what kind of grill I should do..

Oh and I have a Satin Silver color TL

 

You know after running out to my car, here at work (ha ha), and looking at mine compared to this one. All he did was paint the gutter gaurd black and put the mesh in between the chrome peice and the grill. I think. I need to take mine apart to see what it looks like. I will let you know early next week..

 

anyone know what mirror that is...I like those side mirrors.

Anyways, that's an 00-02 ACCORD M-3 style mirror. I remember he had to do some modificatioin to fit those in.

How about some simple generic instructions? i took my grill of the car and tried to add the mesh grill and i couldnt get it to go back on the car so i had to put back on car with the same stock look...HELP ME PLIZ...
