I was driving to work this morning and my maint req'd light turned on. I called the dealer and a lady told me that my light turned on because it is letting me know I need a regular service from the dealer. She said it turns on every 7500 miles or so to let the driver know he/she needs to bring it in for some service, oil change, rotate tires, check brakes...etc. Is this true or is she feeding me a load of BS?

 

It is true. Go inside your car and press and hold the select and reset button. Then while still holding them, put the key in and turn it to the ON position and keep holding it for ten more seconds. Then turn key to OFF, remove it and put it in to start the car, you won't see the light come on anymore until next service time.

 

This is true the light comes on to alert that you will need to have the service done soon. You can do it or have the dealer or someone else do it. Its just a reminder & it can be reset by you to turn it off. This info is located in your owners manual.
