Lower Questions

I've decide to go with Comptech springs for lowering. Do I also need to get the camber adjustment kit with this??? Any body know the clearence with a OEM body kit?? Where would you take your car to get them installed?? the only place i could think of is places like Firestone, but i dont think i would want that. Do I need anything along with spring?? Sorry I know its been beaten to death, but I read and its still confusing.

A few answers:

1. You don't need a camber kit with Comptech springs.

2. Most people take their cars to a performance or suspension shop, my experience was that places like Firestone/Goodyear/etc. won't want to touch your springs. Your dealer will charge way too much. There must be a perf shop in your area.

3. You will probably read about people adding other suspension modifications like thicker front/rear sway bars and strut bars if you do a search. I haven't found them necessary yet, but they do reduce body roll in the turns and I am considering adding them in the future. Simply adding the springs reduced the body roll on my car.

I don't have a body kit, so I can't answer that question.

No camber adjustment kit is necessary because Comptech actually is pretty much right on or close to stock specs. You do have adequate clearance with the OEM kit, but some dips and certain steep to mid steep driveways may cause you to slightly scrape. Drive slow when you first get your springs and kit on to get a feel for what you should look out for. I would recommend asking the board for places that are good around your area. Nothing is needed with springs. You can get shocks later if you want to adjust your stiffness though.

Beason - not sure what yr your TL is.
I had Comptech springs added to my 2000 at a local Honda dealer for $90 about 3 yrs ago.
I got almost 2" drop in front and about 1" in rear. No camber kit, stock shocks and no problems after 3 yrs (45K miles).
I have the OEM body kit except for the front spoiler (too low of clearance and the bra doesn't fit with the spoiler).
I'm currently running 215/60 Pilots on stock rims. Wheel well clearance is 2 fingers in front and 3 in rear (with nobody in the car). Next set of tires will probably be 215/55 or maybe 17" type S rims if I can find some cheap.
You'll be happy with the ride of Comptech springs (not really stiff at all) and the look (w/OEM body kit) and handling will be impressive.
