Angry Lost My Keys!!

My keys have sliiped out of my pant pockets somewhere and i can't seem to find them . A foolish mistake. Can I buy a replacement set? How much are they? Also, it was the memory seat #2. I hope I can replace them!

i believe you can buy replacements (keys, remotes) but make sure you bring all your remaining keys and remote, and you set aside a couple of hours. they will need to do the reprogramming routine so your new key/remote works with your car...possibly one or two hour task according to the dealership i went to. this is what they told me when i tought i had lost my valet key.

Wow, couldn't imagine what the hell they would do for an hour, but as long as that gets me a replacement. Hopefully the keys will turn up, but I want to start finding a solution asap.

Run to the dealer and tell them what happened. They'll take care of you . It will cost a lot of money though...a single key is like 50 bucks and thats because of the embedded microchip for the immbolizer...

Programming the new fob won't take but a minute.

However, I think you have to order a matching Immobilizer-enabled key for your vehicle's VIN number. I think only your dealer can do this.

Talking

False alarm, I found 'em! They were in my buddies back seat because i got a ride home from him on Saturday (he was the DD ). Serves me right for not driving the Type-S :p. Sunday was one of the most stressful days of my life however, and my keys will always be checked upon often. Thanks for all the info guys, now I'm prepared for the worst.

p.s. Hey daverman nice sig pic. Good lighting going on there. Too bad you didnt get EBP j/k.

Hey thanks! That pic was taken at dusk (always a great time to take pics). The floodlights came on at my apartment complex (yellow light) as the skylight was dimming (blue light). It was a sweet combination, and I snapped a bunch of pics. This particular one came out really well.

Yeah, I love EBP; that was my second choice!

The instructions posted by Daverman are correct, the dealer could only find one set of keys when I bought the car, so they ordered 2 sets of keys, I programmed the second set using the above instructions. They wound up finding them 3 weeks later behind a desk, they gave me the 2 sets they ordered for the trouble.

Now I have 4 sets...

The nice thing is that the car will only recognize two sets of keys at a time, so if you did lose a set as soon as you reprogram your remaining set and the new set, it invalidates the old set so if someone found them they couldn't get into your car.

Wow, interesting, thanks. That means i would have had to purchase a set. That would have hurt the wallet im sure. I seem to touch my keys in reassurance a lot more now .
