Question Loaner Car???

Hey when you guys go in for an Oil Change or some warranty stuff do you get a loaner car. I never get it just a waist of 2 hours of my time waiting there. They always say I need to reserve one but over the phone the say just to come in. I just wanted to know what happens with others.

Well, u see dealers are tricky, they want to make or save as much money as possible. Not enough loaner to go around off course.
So reserve next time u call in, or make appoints ahead and ask for one. U got to try to our smart them to the service u deserve.

I got a loaner today from Acura of Boston, it is a 01 Integra and boy do Imiss my TL already. As or AOB, I am still pissed at them for their comments about my WW Spoiler, I may just have to drive that loaner extra head on the way back to the dealer.

Boston, bring on your potholes!!!!

Whenever I call they ask whats wrong and i tell them, then I ask when i can bring it in and they say the next day. But THEY never mention a loaner car. I have to say, 'do you have a loaner for me tomorrow'. They respond, 'No..if you need a loaner you have to wait a week from tuesday (if i call on a monday).' Its kinda rediculous because everytime i go there, i see so many loaner cars not being used. I think they just want to see if you will bring it in and not require a loaner. just my .02

Well the Acura dealer here in Richmond always asks me if I need a loaner car. As long as they are doing warranty work, they will offer a free loaner until you warranty runs out. Pretty cool....

AlexD, what kind of schmoozing did you do to the saleslady to get her to go to your place? My dealer did give me a 01 CL the last time my TL was in for service (warranty only). Sometimes it helps if you tell them you are interested in trading up. I always tell them I need a loaner and insist that they have one. My service rep did apologize for not having a CL-S. Maybe next time.

Just ask the salesperson you bought yout TL from if you could take a loaner out when you take your car in for service. It works most of the time.

I bought my car in Long Island but I live in CT so I didn't get the "deal" but Devan Acura in Norwalk said they would extend the courtesy but only on services that take more than a few hours. No chance on an Oil change.

That doesn't suck as bad as the fact that I am getting my springs and sways installed at another dealer and they won't give me a loaner EVER because I didn't buy the car there.

What a Crock!!!

well for warranty or anything over half a days work, the dealer i go to will offer a free loaner for the day, but something that takes 20 minutes like an oil change, you can forget it...

I guess it all depends on your dealership. I do my own oil changes and minor maintenance, but if I should ever need warranty work I would take it to Ed Morse Acura (formerly Acura of Pompano Beach). It's not the closest dealership to my house, but I've had EXCELLENT treatment from their service department. I had some electrical issues with my GS-R (it turned out to be the alarm that was installed by another shop). Not only did Acura TLC take care of the towing bill (despite it turning out to be a NON warranty problem) but the dealership, who had run out of loaner cars, got me a car from Enterprise and took care of the entire bill. This was all done without any insistence on my part -- they simply know how to treat their customers.
