Llumar Tinting Recomendations

Hi guys, I'm thinking about getting my car tinted using Llumar. I called up a tint shop and now I'm confused as to what class of Llumar to use. There seems to be an ATR High Performance and Platinum Plus, but I'm not sure how those would look on my car :-I

I have an Acura TLS Silver. I'm also doubting I will be tinting my front windows either since the guy tells me it's illegal in CA; so I'm gonna just get the UV shield for the side windows.

Any suggestions or pix I can take a look at guys ??

I think the Platinum Plus might be more reflective than the other. Go down to the tint shop and they should have samples that you can compare. Here's a pic of the 35% Lumar on my car.

Hey 99WDP that looks great, i just recently got a WDP TLS and I want to get tint. My problem is the fish netting on the top of the rear windshield. How did you go about that problem?

you can look up the laws here... www.iwfa.com , but you can tint your front side windws (75% light transmittance aka light) in cali. if you are leaving your car stock, then you might be able to get away with medium (~50%lt) on the fronts. i like an even shade all the way around and it's not so light that it doesn't help in the morning, and it's not so dark that it's a problem at nights.

I think that link is likely to be outdated. If you goto http://www.chp.ca.gov/html/answers.html#02 , they will say you cannot tint your front windows And that's the CHP website too so I'm more likely to trust them... Damn stupid laws :-I

you know what.. i dont konw too much about what kinds of tints .. but i know one thing for sure. you ahve to tint all the windows.. excluding the front windshield. when the front two aren't tinted.. it looks tacky. ive had mine tinted.. and cops have never pulled me over. i even got a parking ticket .. but no fix it ticket with it. its not like we drive rice rockets around.. cops like to pull them over.

Don't use that crap. They have put on my last two cars and the rear glass tint gets blurry after about a year. I thought it was a fluke on company car, but now it's done it on the TL. It has a lifetime warranty, but it's a hassle....

I thought If they peeled off your tint that it would mess up your defroster. is that true?

Good tinters use a chemical that allows it to pull of the glass...

You must have overlooked the part on the CHP link where it says that there was legislation passed 1/1/99 that permitted certain types of film on the front driver/passenger windows...
