looks good it kinda makes the rest of the housing look empty. I wonder how much light they would actually produce at night...

Works for me. Do you have any shots in total darkness to compare the brightness of them LED's to stock bulbs? It also looks a little uneven but I'm sure that can be adjusted.

yes u could there is 14 LEDs now u can add another 14 LEDs but then the way i did it it would make it a lil hard to get the wiring thru the harness..cuz i slipped it thru the harness cuz i didn want to cut any holes or cut away at the taillight housing itself or open it up at all

if i could have found a cheap set of taillights that i can hack away with then i would do it w/ as many leds as i can fit.

hope i'm not bursting your secret here, but did you use something like this?

i've been interested in swapping the stock bulbs with these, except i'm not entirely sure if the angle and brightness is great enough to achieve the same effect.

No no, I think you misunderstood me. I meant simply replacing the stock bulbs with the 15LED bulbs... wonder how that would look.

My friend installed a 15LED bulb on his car and they are very weak and not as bright
its better using a strip rather than a bulb...

any update with these.......I have LED bulbs as my rear turn signal and would love to have LED taillights. I was thinking, wouldnt it be easier to take the taillight apart and place the strips of leds in?

Finals come to an end thursday
i will be working on them again probably the week after so pics of how i'm doing them will be posted up soon

In regard to why i didn want to open up the taillights is that
#1: i didn want to have condenstation in them
#2: what if i screw up the lense.
#3: they pop in like bulbs...jsut getting them straight is the hard part.

I see where you are coming from. I was browsing thru ebay and considered gettin an extra set of taillights and experimenting on those. Dunno if you have free time maybe in a few weeks we can set something up, wont mind sending you a set and some extra $$$ to have you try it out or even set-up the LEDs the way you want.
