Hmmm....well it really depends how much you are willing to spend. It mite be pretty cool if was given an opportunity to do that but then i think i'd want to find better set of LEDs rather than a strip. Currently each of the strips of LED that i had gotten from Walmart is about $40 each. I was thinking since u want to try it on an extra set and opening them up then finding a board with more LEDs on it would be suitable for easier implementation. just lemme know if u want me to try tho.

Cool. Well I will def look more into this, and hit you up with info when I have gathered a good deal. Didnt think about the boards with LEDs since the taillights would be removed. Hmmmm well this should be interesting.

$50 x 4 for spiderlites is NOT a bargain.

That's the cheaper 3-arm one, true, but we know the nice ones are the 5-arm version.

They appear to come in all the standard socket configs, if that's what you're referring to. However, maybe you mean there may not be enough space for the arms to expand once they're pushed into place. That may be true. The ideal solution would be to take apart the lens and do a wall-to-wall strip of LEDs that takes up the entire rectangle where the 2 bulbs are now.

got a suggestion for you why don't you put a couple of LEDs to back deflectors on each side this will make it brighter.

neway i think it would be kinda weird and hard to face the LEDs backwards towards the reflectors but here is the finished product..after a while 6 months i think lol finally had the time to finish them off

so i got the passenger one done now and fix the drivers one finally
looks like passenger one is slightly slanted i will fix that later just thankful that its done.

it seemed easier on the passeneger side now that i've done it :p

That looks very nice. So how many strips did you wind up using and what was the costs?

two strip for each hole
total 4 on each side
each strip has 4 LEDs
total of 28 LEDs on each side

total cost
$30 x 8 strips = $240 + at least 10hrs of work ahha

the passenger side took alot faster than the drivers side since there was some guessing work to do and such but if the LEDs didn't come in a housing then it would have made it much easier to modify.

wouldn't it be so much cheaper and better to just take them apart like you do the headlights... buy pc boards... paint them chrome and punch leds into them so that it reflects more light... that way you would be able to put a lot more leds into it and make it look however you want. As soon as I get another job and money for the 02+ taillights i'm going to do this... it's not hard at all ... i think you'd be able to do it in half or less the time it took you and it'd be cheaper... but just my .02 ... in any case... it does look good

i think if i did it again it would take half the time to do them.

1. i didn wanna take apart the taillights and make a mess outta them
2. when i had the taillights on my lap the seals were not visible...not like the headlights. My friend suggested it but i opted not to. The passenger taillight took me 3hrs to do. not that hard anymore.

3. i didn't want to have a faulty taillight that would receive condensation. i've seen alot of civic headlights that were blacked out and sealed again but the seal job was bad and it condensed. some have reinforced them with silicon or other type of seals which i dun like cuz then it makes a mess of the headlights and i dun want that on my taillights.

lol yes one of them is slanted..the very far right one. i havta fix that i stated that already.

the way i've done it...is an easy way to go back to stock..i can take these LEDs strips out and put stock halogen bulbs back in no time.

and i can use them again on another car later on or on a 03 TLS Aspec that im planning on getting

well the LED circuit board is designed for stop and taillight

i could not find other type of LED set ups that would do dual stop and taillight in one bulb and i found these bright enough to use for purpose of vehicle use.

Thx actually the LED is designed for Stop, Tail light and signal so it can actually be used as a signal light as well. I wanted to use it for the signals too have a strip up there but the LEDs emit red so no can do unless i really want red signals

You should see the stock LEDs on my '04 BMW M3. Even my rear signals are LED. I've been told that they are obnoxious at night....

hehe...mission accomplished.
