I was told today that it would be late December before I saw my new tranny. This of course is due to the national back-order. Baahhhgrrrrabbbaadaagggagummmaaaddrrr!!!! (that's my angry noise)

On the bright side, at least your dealer gave you a time frame of when to expect it. I'm at 3 weeks and my dealer still swears that they have no idea when they will get one.
Can you expect any kind of compensation besides the loaner car from the dealer? I don't think they're obligated to do anything.

I got a rental car at Acura's expense while my car is out of service. What stinks is that I get reimbursed for the business miles I drive which ultimately pays my car payment every month. If I don't drive the car, I don't get any money and have to make the payment from my own pocket. Should I ask for compensation?

I've thought about a trade, but there's really nothing else out there I would rather have (other than the TLS). And I really don't want to have to go through all this with another car (maybe I would, maybe I wouldn't -- it's a crap shoot). I've had my eye on the I35 but have yet to drive one. How do you like your I30?

Well, my I30t is good. Quieter than the TL-S. Not much power though. You can test drive the I35. Power is there and the build quality is better than the TL-S. Try the I35 with Sport Package, you won't be disappointed.

I talked to the gen. mgr. at my dealership today, telling him what was going on with my TLS. He said I definitely have a lemon and that I should call lemon-law phone number in my Acura owner's manual. He stated that one of 3 things will happen:
1) My transmission that is on back-order will appear w/in a few days rather than a month.
2) Acura will replace my car with a new one.
3) Acura will buy back my car at purchase price plus whatever interest I've paid so far.
I told him I was going to contact an attorney and he felt that wasn't necessary. He thought that by just calling Acura, I should get whatever I want and that it would be easier than doing all this through a lawyer. I'm going to call the number tomorrow and see what happens. If things don't go to my satisfaction, then perhaps I'll call an attorney at that point.

RedLined, it's good to hear that the gen manager is helpful at your dealership. can you keep us posted about the situation? i think it's really really helpful for everyone on the forum, especially those who have tranny problems.
thanks, and best wishes.
