K&N Oil Filter?

The guy at Kragen tells me K&N doesn' t produce an oil filter for an '03 TL-S. So we look up '02 but they're outta stock and he tries to sell me on a Fram Tuff Guard or something. Does someone have the part number handy of the K&N filter for an '03 model TL-S? And what national chain carries performance oriented parts?

You can try to see if www.autobarn.com carries them for the '03 TL-S. You might as well get a K&N air filter while you are shopping at that site if you don't have a high-flow drop-in air filter or an aftermarket air intake system.

Hmm, still no luck on 2003 oil or air filters, though. Air filters also seem to come in two flavors depending on your VIN number, but I don't know if that's going to work for my year.

Hey Guy, Try buying a Mobil One .....it is related to the Kand N filter, like brother/sister from the same mfg. according to a thing I once read here. Purolator pure ones are good too.

Not sure why everybody is all into K&N, Mobil1, and Purolator oil filters. The Acura OEM oil filter is good enough already. I mean, it was specifically designed for our vehicles so it should do a good job filtering than most aftermarket ones that claim to filter better. As long as you change your motor oil and oil filter based on your driving habits, the engine will last a long time which Honda is known for.

Doesn't the 03 TL-S use the same filter almost every other honda does besides the new civics and RSX? I've bought an K&N oil filter before, but how can you really tell if it is worth the extra money or not? Now I just use the OEM filters, sometimes a fram when I'm short on cash, I think most of these filters are built the same way, just different labeling. As long as you don't buy some generic one it should be find, but I couldn't justify spending $10 on an oil filter.

Actually, it was designed for the Accord and they just used it on the TL (and a few other Honda vehicles). But FWIW I have always used the Honda OEM filters and never had a problem.
