Just hit the 100k milestone
Kinda sad but my car now has over a 100k miles. I did treat it today to new thermoblock spacers. gave the manifold, tb, and intake a nice cleaning. the rpms seem to be goin up a lot faster. Its gotta few more goodies coming very very soon. 300WHP is around the corner
I currently have 99,940 miles on my 2000 TL-P here, I assume sometime this weekend I'll hit the big 100K. It's sad, I want a new car once that comes, or just a new engine and a 6-speed.
keep rolling man, long way to catch up with some of us! 99tlp here, 194k approaching 2ck in a couple of months
weird thing is i called acura and they told me they have no record of any warranty work done on my car, so it seems i might stilll be on ma original tranny too at 194k miles.

100,000 miles used to be a considered an "end of life" marker for a car. But that's no longer the case.
With proper maintenance there's no reason that a TL can't reach 200,000 or even 300,000 miles. There's really nothing that can't be repaired or replaced.
My 1999 TL just passed 200,000 miles and it's still running great.

our moderator- fsttyms1- has well over 250k, swapped the motor and trans at 200 for a 6speed, that was after 5, count em, 5 transmission failures
Motor was perfect on teardown inspection- still had the crosshatch marks in the cylinders!

Mess up the timing when you do the timing belt, and your engine is toast.
About 4-6+ hours at the shop- for someone who knows where all the bolts are and can work blindly and still know what they are doing
the 105 gets valve adjustment in addittion to the water pump-timing belt -tensioner etc etc
Thats removing most everything from the top and side of the engine- just to get at the work area- then hooking it all back up correctly is the real skill
You can change the plugs yourself if you are trying to cut down $
Always look for a private shop and ask how many they have done
They have insuranc if they screw up

I just recently went over 100k miles and had the timing belt and water pump done. The belt was in perfect condition. Looked pratically brand new when the took it off. Almost a waste of money, but at least I know it's new. The timing belt and water pump + labor ran me $700 at a local shop. The dealers wanted a little over $800 for it. A valve adjustment at a dealer will probably run about $300 and maybe around $250 at a local shop. If you do the valve adjustment, it's not hard, but make sure you put everything back the way it was. When I did mine I switched 2 hoses and the car wouldn't start. What a PITA.
