Installing HID bulb

Installing HID bulb

i got my replacement D2R bulbs today,. i'm gonna try to install them..

What's the procedure for installing them? Do i need a special screw drvier or something??

You need a speical screw driver bit call a secure torx, regular torx
bits won't work. You can also use a small flat head screw driver, just becareful not to strip the screw.

i assume you cannot buy the secure torx,...

i'll try it with the flat screwdriver, and see if i can do it..

you can buy it online, careful not to strip the screw cuz its easy to do that with the flat head.

I bought it from a local hardware store.... small one too...it is called a T-20 secure torx bit.

well, i think i'm gonna have to go buy that bit because i cannot get it off with a flat head screwdriver.. i can't even get it to fit in, let alone try to turn it..

BXscig What local hardware store did you get it from? Was it like a true value or something??

hmmm you can try, I am pretty sure they do. Doesn't hurt to try. Just when u take out the screws becareful cause they are TINY!!! loosen it and then finish it off with your fingers maybe

okay, i found the bit, and i took off the plastic cover and replaced the bulb. It took me 1.5 hours to do the passenger side. I still cannot get the black round cover back on? How do u do it? I tried everything the bottom part of the cover just does not go on..

my knuckles are all scraped,.. sux, stupid TL lites... and i only did the passenger one that was working b/c i thought it would be easier, the blown bulb is on the drivers side...

how do u do it? or does anyone in northern NJ have sum time to help me put them in...
