Post I need help (with OEM kit install)!!!Please!!!

HI all,

I bought the OEM kit from Ed used, and it didn't come with any of the mounting hardware. When I called my Acura dealer, the idiot at the parts department (besides being rude and swearing) said he "would have to order the whole kit. The mounting stuff cannot be ordered seperately." Is he for real!?!

What I need is this: does anyone know if it can be ordered? If not, how about those of you who did your own install. What did the clips and bolts look like, so I can just go buy some. PLease help me! I want to put the kit on!! Thanks in advance.

I have to look in my Helm manual - but I'm pretty sure you can order those clips. Your local Honda dealer should even have them. I'll look it up and let you know what kind of clips they are and of you need more hardware.

as for the clips for the side skirts, pretty much all honda/acura dealers should have them instock. for the rear, you will definately need the ones there were specifically meant for it. call another dealership, im sure you can get the mounting hardware

for the front, you dont NEED the brackets the come with it, but it might not sit perfectly without them. id recommend getting the mounting kit for the front. try another dealer. call around

In the middle of the night, go to a local Acura dealer, and find a TL, that has a kit on the lot...then grab your flashlight and your flat-head screwdriver, and pull away at those brackets and clips that you need, make sure you tape up the front and rear lip of the TL that has blessed you, and runaway!

Very funny sinnedtl. Hey, "sinned." Hmmmm. Unfortuenatly, the dealer up the street has no such TL on the lot. I live in Mass, and here most of the TL's are driven by old people, so no body kits (ecept for the awesome people here of course!).

Call Park Ave Acura in Maywood, NJ. They can get anything for you. Talk to John in Parts. Phone: (201) 587-9000

Either that or http://www.ahmotor.com I get a lot of OEM stuff from them. I'm sure they could get it as well.

Hey TLWiz,

I was in herb Connely (in Framingham) for an oil change and the guy who runs their parts department was pretty cool, we talked about Comptech for a while. Try giving them a buzz, that is only a 30 minute ride from Auburn.

Good luck!

Don't email them. Call them. They typically don't respond very quickly to email.
