I broke a lug nut stud, what to do?

Does anyone know what is involved in replacing the lug studs? I tried pounding it out but there is not enough room next to the hub. Anyone with any ideas? Thanks in advance

I was replacing the brakes. I had to replace the rear rotors and cut the front ones. I had no problems with the back, when I got to the front the stupid rotors would not come loose so I started hitting them with a hammer. I slipped with a swing and hit a stud messing it up pretty good and could not repair it.

Any tire place will replace that stud for a few dollars.

well i never done this car before, so i don't really know. but with other cars, you usually bang it out with a hammer and use a impact gun to pull it back in

You can order that seperately. It's like $4.00

You just need to take the old one out from the hub(hammer it out to the back) & put the new bolt & tighten it.

It would depend on if the backing plate (#16) (when unbolted) moves further to the center of the car (pushing it away from you) or moves towards you. Let's hope it's the former. If it does move away from you then it's easy. If it has to move towards you then you'll probably have to remove the hub (#5), remove the backing plate, put the hub back on and pound away at it. Of course a real shop would use an Arbor Press to get it out.
