I begin to doult the quality of TL, because of the sqeeze noise.

I bought this brandnew TL only 2 months ago. Now I begin to hear some very annoying squeeze noise in the car when I drive on any uneven road. I am not able to find where the noise comes from. Just feel it is from the front part, maybe the seats. But if I stop and attempt to shake the seats myself, I cannot reproduce the noise.

TL is not a cheap car. I really don't understand why this happens!
I am really disappointed!

Unhappy

I hear something near the driver's side door or window, also some clicking noise from the seat. I don't understand that either.

Clicking noise I hear is the passenger headrest. I have seen posts saying to raise it one notch from the bottom, but I still hear it. The only time I don't hear it is when the wife is in the car. I don't know if there is a TSB on it since Acura doesn't release TSB's anymore for public viewing

Angry

The clicking noise I hear from the seat is when I brake to a stop. I tried once by pushing myself forward using the steering wheel and there was that noise. I'm getting really sick of it cause I do a lot of stop and go everyday. I might just take it back to the dealer and tell them to fix it.

Do you people think if dealer can check it up and fix it? Is it under the warranty?

This is so anonying!

Before I bought this car, another candidate was Passat GLX which has full leather seats. Maybe I choose wrong one!!!

Of course you can bring it back since it's a brand new car. I'm about to bring it back and complaint the hell of whoever is in charge at the dealership.
Acura is the luxury division of Honda so they hate to have unsatisfy customers because it will effect their products. If for any reason your not satisfy afterwards, you can contact Acura direct and complaint to them. You can also go to the Better Business Buerau.
As for the VW, on the long run, you will have mechanical problems unlike the Acura IMO.

This topic had been brought up so many times...As far as going to BBB, you could try but i don't think you would get any where.

the clicking noise could be from your seat belt holder thing. its more like a squeaky noise though. just spray some wd40 and ur set to go!

Spraying wd40 into seat belt holder is ONLY a temporary fix. Take it back to the dealer, and let them put a piece of felt in there to get rid of the squeaks for good.

Bottom seat spring squeaks can also be fixed using the same above method as well.

Moon roof cover rattles can be fixed using the teflon tape.

All these minor squeaks can be done at your dealer for free if your car is still under warranty. I had all these squeaks and rattles in my car fixed in about 1 hour max at the dealer. No more squeaks or rattles!

It is strange. Seems the squeezing noise is not stable, becasue today I did not hear the noise when I drove the car. Of course I cannot bring it to dealer if I cannot reproduce the problem...

I don't know when the noise is going to happen next time. Annoying!!!

I too have noticed a similar "squeeze" noise. What I have found is that if I put my lumbar support OUT it goes away. When my lumbar support is FLAT the "squeeze" comes back.

try changing lumbar position to see if it goes away.

com'on guys, be realistic, all cars have their problems, believe me
talk to any car owner club, my friend's s430 has squeaks, my other friend's clk has rattles, my 330Ci has rattles...

imagine the car in pieces, then screwed together by yourself with thousands of screws then see if it makes sense a car rattles or not, you'll b amazed that the car rattles so little!!

but i do believe in japanese made cars have better quality than any other countries' cars...

as for the squeaking sound... i also think it may come from the seat belt holder as well... just my 2 cents~

IMO, just bring it in once. If they can't get rid of it. Forget it. I had the exact problem with the seat squeak and ticking nosie somewhere at the back. 4 visits, 2 dealers. End up using WD-40 to quiet it down. The ticking noise was gone for a year, it came back in certain temperature. My driver seat frame is bent a little somehow, and at certain position, the seat will rock a bit accelarate from a stop. Ever so piss

it's the sunroof. drive with it closed... see if it makes the noise... then drive with it open... and if it doesnt, its the sunroof.

HI,

I just noticed this same noise yesterday, and I agree with you that it's the sunroof rubber gasket rubbing when the car bounces over rough roads.

What did you do to quiet this down? Did you take it back to the dealer, and were they able to fix it?

Thanks!

"squeeze noise"

What the heck does "squeeze" sound like? I have a 97 tl w/ 66k on it and I sometimes hear a muffled rattling noise when I go over rough road. I've narrowed it down to the passanger seat rattling a bit in its tracks...not quite sure what to do about it...but at least the sounds don't come from the engine.

I have the same thing...sunroof.

I live in New Hampshire, after it snows and some melts then freezes or after freezing rain storm my sunroof makes a loud crackling noise like little peices of ice moving around inside the roof.

Also I have owned 7 other Honda's before my 2000 3.2 TL, several had 100k plus miles with no problems, my wife's 1989 Accord with 215000 and no problems and my 1991 Accord EX with 271000 before the trans went. Presently I have a 2000 TL and 2001 Odyssey.

The problem/problems are:

1.. Leather rear seat bottom and back cracked at about 1 year (no one was ever in the back) Conditioner was used
2.. Driver side bottom leather cracked 15 months
3.. Passenger seat leather back cracked 18 months.or there about
4.. Rear back (again), rear bottom (again), passenger bottom, drivers rear, and drivers head rest all cracking 22 months
5.. Transmission SHOT. they said a faulty bearing 22 months
6.. Torque converter bad 22 months
7.. Front wheel bearings bad 22 months
8.. Brakes bad (Rotors and pads) 22 months

All was replaced under warranty...

Has Honda changed their standards???? Has anyone else had similar problems?

1991 Accord EX...BEST Honda EVER made!!!!!!:wow:
