Hyper Lube oil supplement & Coolant supplement??

Has anyone used any of their products? What were your results? Their website is www.hyperlube.com. I have 107k miles on TL and anything I can use that will make it like new I am interested in. Thanks.

It looks like this Hy-per lube stuff is garbage.

if you want to use *anything* use redline water wetter in your radiator and synthetic oil in your car (i prefer mobil1). i wouldn't use any of that other stuff.

the only products i will endorse because i have used them are the kerosene engine flush for older cars(although i don't think i would use it in my TL) slick50 additive and anything from Lucas Oil. i tried slick50 in my old 1990 corsica, worked amazing. restored gas mileage and power, but of course you only use it once and drain the oil after 300 miles if i recall. the kerosene flush did equally the same in my chevy. restored power and gas mileage and got rid of this annoying valve tick i had.

the lucas oil transmission additive i used in my 1993 taurus SHO and it definitely helped my transmission slipping issues. the power steering additive is good too.

otherwise i am GREATLY wary of using anything but STP fuel injector cleaner in my car on a regular basis.

I agree with redline water wetter. I use Mobil 1 for oil. Didn't notice any change with Slick 50 when I used it in the early 90s. It was a one time product from what I remember. Not familiar with Hyperlube.

I have only used Mobil1 for the get go. Thanks for the advice. I use Slick50 Fuel system cleaner and seems to work great. I thought it was crap, but wanted to hear it from you guys first.

Post this question here http://theoildrop.server101.com/ubb/...?ubb=forum;f=5 and you'll get good answers.

You'll learn to stay away from Slick50, STP, and Lucas.

wait a minute, slick50 is the mineral oil right? that's bad stuff. i take it back, i didn't use that one. i used the additive with teflon in it.....mmm....can't remember the name right now. i'll have to check in autozone.

but either way, i would have to respectfully disagree with your statement because i've used STP and Lucas products on multiple cars that are still running well over 130k miles on the clock to this day. and i'm talking american cars from the early 90s, not japanese cars.

but yes, slick50 IIRC has mineral oil in it and you should definitely stay away from that. and i'm not saying people should go throwing additives in their cars for no reason not knowing the effects, but i will say that some of them are tried and true at this point. *few*, but some.

i do remember reading some urban legends about people that practically had their engines blow up from using some/all of the above products, but i would really have to question:
  1. how many people were affected?
  2. under what circumstances did this occur?
  3. what kind of car?
  4. what year was the car?
  5. how many miles on it?
  6. what condition was the car in to begin with?

to be perfectly honest with you though, at this point in time i will not and have not put anything in my TL other than Mobil1 and some fuel injector cleaner from time to time. it simply doesn't need anything more than that.

this could turn into a very good discussion, much like ones i've had about why people shouldn't use pennzoil
