How much did you pay for spring install?

I asked someone here in Cleveland how much it would cost me to get my springs installed and they said $250. That seems VERY expensive - the springs are only $179! Now, the place I was at seemed to recruit only hill billies and high school drop outs, so I'm not planning on letting them touch my car anyway.

Anyone in Cleveland have springs installed? One user did, but it was at a hot rod joint that usually doesn't touch imports. I'd rather take it to a place that specializes in imports.

I would need to buy jackstands, a jack, and spring compressor. Wouldn't that all cost me a lot more than just having someone else install them?

you can borrow parts from a lot of local stores (autozone, etc.) just leave a deposit and you get it when you return the tools if they are still in one piece. =free

In Columbus the cheapest I can find springs installed is 400.00. I would say the majority of the people on the board have paid anywhere from 100 to 200 bucks for and install of them . Good luck .

Hey acnup00tl, I didn't realize it was you! How's the car doing? Still haven't found someone to install those springs yet? I would rather not even lower my car than pay somebody 400 bucks to do it. If you want sometime this summer I'll meet up with you and help you do it, you can just buy me a couple brews afterward or something!

Thanks - do you have a number for NXS Performance? I can't find their number in the yellow pages or on the net. Where in Cleveland are you?

I went to NXS as well, in Parma. They charge $65/hour and do a nice job. I paid $260 + tax, which included a 4-wheel allignment. You don't have to have the allignment, I had it done because it's so hard for me to take time off from work (12+ hr days). The owner does mods mostly on 'vettes and SUVs, his shop makes me wish I owned a 'vette.

Their website is http://www.nxsperformance.com , has all the info you need.

To see an example of their work, you can look at my car in the Gallery.

Hey acnup, I didn't know that was you! I've been thinking, you should call Wyan and ask him if he might want to do it on the side or something for $$. If not, i know a guy I can hook you up with that works at Mobile Electronics on Morse road that will do your spring install for 100 or 150. I'll give you his # if you want it.

I paid $100...it shouldn't cost you much more than that..Max you should pay is $150, anything more than that and you simply got RIPPED OFF...Our suspensions are the same as in the accord V6, we just have larger sway bars, and therefore the spring install isn't anything complicated..If the shop wants to charge you some absurd amount and justifies it by yacking about how it's a "big job" or "not an easy install" tell them to piss off and go somewhere else.

I think the price depends on where you are, it's clearly less expensive where you are. Here in Cleveland, there are no tuning shops that cater to Japanese imports--most people here drive American cars (by the way, I consider the TL an American car, but my neighbor who works at Chrysler would think otherwise). Only a few shops replace springs here. I know, I called multiple shops. A lot of these "suspension" repair shops only replace struts/shocks and won't touch springs at all. I therefore had a difficult time finding a shop to do the work.

I paid about $300 and it included an alignment. They also had to do a little "cutting" of the bumper to avoid rubbing... but it was so professionally done... that you can't really notice it. I couldn't have done all that myself. It was well worth it.

$75 per strut so $300 is what my mechanic is quoting me.
