How to install positve battery cable & terminal

Hello,
Does anyone know how to install a positive battery cable for a 2000 Acura V6.
I believe one end goes to the starter solenoid. Are there any precuations or resets, or other items I need to do. I am familier with resetting the radio code.

Thanks for any help.

Is the one that goes to the starter bad?

If you do anything like that disconnect the negative cable first. (make sure you have the radio code and navi code(if you have navi) before disconnecting anything

It is part number 32410-S0K-A10 - starter cable.

How difficult is this to put in. I believe one end goes to starter, one to fuse box.
thanks.

always negative first when disconecting or reconnecting...if u dont, and u do the positive first, u act as a ground and zap!

general rule, is to keep 1 hand in ur pocket and the other doing whatever work is needed, u basically ground urself

Not hard at all. So like asked before you cant clean it? Is it giving you troubles that you think you need to replace it?

This isn't true for DC. DC current doesn't look for ground, it looks for the opposite charge. You are not charged significantly enough to elicit any interest from the electrons. I really doesn't make much difference which end you disconnect first. Once the circuit is broken there's no current going anywhere. Just make sure your key is not in the ignition so there's not a closed circuit as soon as you connect the second terminal as this can cause spikes that are not good for sensitive electronics.

If you were working with AC (like in your house) those guidelines would be correct.

I always thought you take the negative off first, as you stated and when replacing the battery you do the reverse.....By putting the postive on first then the negative last?

Correct me if I'm wrong..

cable starter solenoid

I am sorry, I mean the connection of the starter cable between the battery and starter solenoid.. Also, the other end goes to the fuse box. How complicated or how simple is this to install.

Thanks for any help. You guys are very knowledgeable.

its not complicated at all. Pop the hood and look. Always disconnect the battery before doing any work like that first though

Electrons(-) flows from the negative side towards the positive side(+) to complete a circuit. So you always want to keep the positive side connected to something since it is acting as ground.

Conclusion: When removing cables from batteries, remove negative side first. When putting cables on the battery, put the positive side first.
