I have a 2003 TL Type S, and i was wondering if any one here knows how fast it can go. I've gotten it 120, but always have to slow down becuase since i got this car i've gotten 3 tickets. =( Thanks.
Yes, welcome to the board newbie. Sorry for the other rude response you got but you can't control everyone. Anyone who has spent any time here will quickly realize there are no new questions. So the polite thing to do is just answer any question.
Top speed is around 147 (I think). But 120 is plenty fast. Be happy with it and live a long, healthy life.

The pic also looks like it's dark outside?
Were you flying this fast at night, or is this a pic from a test on a dyno?
I too had to wonder what the red light on the dash was.... if it's the seat belt light, then I have to question the validity of this pic on the actual highway. In fact, I hope it is a pic while being chained down to a dyno roller.
In any case, it shows how fast the car can move the wheels, and at what rmp.... GREAT PIC! one method of getting this pic is just a bit safer for the rest of us...

The point is you're gonna be tossed out of the car either way... Instead of having your upperbody laying 50 feet down from your car and your lowerbody inside the car, I'd rather have my whole body there on the ground...
just so you guys know there is like a +- 10% error in speedometers at those high speeds. Dont believe me get a radar gun and test your speedometers accuracy. I work for the police department in fort lauderdale florida and I we have actually tested it out. thats where the 6 mph buffer comes from on tickets. At 80mph + most speedometers start to vary on different cars true speeds. Not to say that you werent going a minimum of 142 if your speedometer says 151 but just thought Id let you know.
I got mine up to 141, the ODO showed slightly higher, about 2mph higher, but the GPS on my laptop tracked at 141 for 20 seconds.
I was too scared to go higher, and as far as the seatbelt argument goes, you wont be cut in half if you crash, but you will go splat in your car if you arent wearing it.

Here's an easy test...
What gear where you in when you hit that speed? Check the RPMs in the same gear at 60 and then just adjust the speed for the increase in RPMs.
I have the feeling that your speedo is pretty accurate at that speed.
