How do you remove this vent?

Has anyone ever removed the defroster vent (pointed to in RED)? I have a rattle coming from around that area on the passenger side and am reluctant to just "pull" on it as I have no idea how it's attached.

I've pulled but it doesn't pop out.... anyone else try it?
