How do I go back to my old Navigation Disc?

I had the 2.03 and i just borrowed a friends 2.11 to see if I noticed any differences. Couldn't really tell. I gave him his back but now my 2.03 Navigation disc doesn't work anymore. Anyway to make it work again without going to the dealer?

That's a good question. I've never tried going back. But PM me for info on getting a copy of 2.50.

You may need to do a full factory reset on the NAV somehow - i just don't know how. Maybe disconnect the battery?

you have your setting set to not receive PMS....
umoms has chosen not to receive private messages or may not be allowed to receive private messages. Therefore you may not send your message to him/her.

You need either 5 or 10 posts to be able to send or receive PMs. A few more posts by umoms and you can PM.

Hold down the these keys for 10 secs IN THIS ORDER:

MAP
MENU
CANCEL

That will bring you into the diagnostics screen. In one of those screens you can choose FORCE DOWNLOAD. That will load the old disc back into memory. Email me at my username at hotmail if you have any questions.

If you can't make it through the initial boot process, check out this thread for some additional tips:

https://acurazine.com/forums/ramblings-12/microsoft-guru-119477/

Here's what forum member Megatron wrote:

You can't get into the Diagnostic screen to do a force upload if you can't boot the system with the 2.05 disc. That is the dilemma...

This is what you have to do to go back...

1) Put the 2.05 disc in your unit and power your car on. After you get the error, turn the car back off.

2) Go to the back of the NAVI unit (in the trunk) and find the connector hanging by the unit that is not connected to anything. I get to it via the trunk pass-through in the rear seat.

3) You have to use a paper clip or something metal to jump the two pins in that connector together.

4) Power on the car... You will then already be in the diagnostic screen. Pick the force download option and it will reflash your firmware using the 2.05 disc in your unit.

Good Luck!

Bob

Wow... I was just going to reply to this when someone quoted my own words from a previous post! I can confirm that definitely works. Let me know if you have any questions.

Wow, wish someone would have told me this, I had to take my car back to the dealer to put my old disk in. They used a jumper to rest the navi. At least it was free.

Thanks for posting the instructions previously. I stumbled across that thread months ago and I saved the link in the event I would need it someday. It's certainly a process I never would have figured out on my own!

I couldn't get to the secret menu and I'm not sure which wire you are referring to. What color is it? I don't see any wires that aren't connected to anything? Do you have a picture by chance?

Thanks!

Did you try looking for the loose connector through the rear seat pass-through door? Maybe it's easier to see from there.

You might also want to send Megatron a private message in case he doesn't check out this thread.

I think I got the buttons wrong on my last post. This sequence should be followed AFTER hitting the OK button. You must be in the map screen or the menu screen. You cannot be in the climate control screen. You need 3 fingers to push and hold down these buttons in this order:

1. MENU

2. MAP

3. CANCEL

In the end, all 3 buttons must be held down for 5-10 secs. That should get you into the diagnostics menu. Where there is an option for FORCE DOWNLOAD

Does anyone have a backup of 2.50? I'm running 2.11c right now, and it "hangs" on me a lot. I'm debating if I should go forward or go backwards to 2.04 (or whatever I have).

Anyone have a newer version then my 2.11c? Want to sell to me or do you have an evaluation copy I can try and decide if I would like to purchase it?

PM me if you don't want to reply to me here!

Thanks!
