Hot Darn . . . Akebono Brake Pad Mismatch
Ok,
So I finally get around to installing my first set of Rotora rotors w/ Akebono pads. Passenger side goes on with no problem whatsoever, rotors and pads were installed in less than 20 minutes. Move to the driver's side, replace the rotor and replace the one pad that comes in contact with the caliper piston. Get to replacing the final pad only to have difficulty with aligning the teeth into the mounting brackets. After fooling around trying to seat this pad inside the bracket for about ten minutes, I decide to pull it out and line it with the old pad. To my surprise, I find out that I have a mismatched pad from the other three!! So now here it is I have one side that has new parts (already installed and all), and one side that is incomplete due to one darn pad that is not identical to the rest. What do you suggest I should do:
1. Contact RockAuto on Monday and wait for them to send me a another pad set (which will probably take a few days)?
2. Say screw it and go to dealer to purchase a set of OEM pads, and just simply return the Akebono's?
Obviously if I do #1, I will have to go back over to passenger side to take off new hardware and reinstall old stuff (until replacement pads arrive).
