My bro told me not too keep my HID's on during the day cuz they will blow out.
Is that ture ... i thought they were suppose to blow out ...

 

HDs last twice as long aaas regular halogens... so you can keep them on 24-7. Chances are, youll sell your car before they will blow out.

 

hey serge, does VolksWagon offer HID in any of their cars yet???

 

I remember someone calculating it out a while back. He said something like if you leave your HID's on 24-7, itwill take you ten years to blow out your headlights. He may be wrong. I am just repeating what I heard.

BlackTL.. I heard the same thing. From a few different sources.. so Im guessing its right.

Shyne.. No they do not.. I mean in Europe they have been for years.. but in US they will start at the end of this year. I do not own a VW.. just when I was shopping for a car and went to a VW dealership and told them to give me three reasons why I should get a loaded passat rather than a TLS.. all they could say was "Acura is a really great car.. and there is no way you can match its value" Thats how I got the quote.

like his driver's side head light was half way lit, almost looked pink in color; as opposed to his passenger side which was all the way white...very weird...

Whats funny is I went to the BMW dealership to see what they had. I asked what they had that would compare to the TL (which I was already set on buying - my friend drug me to BMW ). They said I'd need a sport package, etc, etc... they pretty much told me to go for the Acura. I thought it was strange they didn't want my business but it was probably because they thought I was just some kid. Dip****s!

 

I have had mine on 24-7 since i bought the car. no problems so far..... my baby is only 13months old though..

I have been using mine since day one 18months now.
If they last more than twice as long as a Halogen Bulb you should get 7yrs or more. I used the Headlights on my 94 Accord all the time for 5yrs before one blew out. We need to remember our sidemakers/parking lights will blow because of keyless entry use.

There's a better chance that your HID's will be stolen than blown out. Sad, isn't it?

I HATE THOSE dealers -- that are like "Why are you wasting my time" when they just assume you can't afford their car or something......
A VW dealer's rep was SOOO rude to me, I got so piszed. I wanted to look at a Jetta VR6, he gave me the keys I went and looked at it came in to talk to him about a test drive and while I like start talking to him this older lady comes in saying she's intersted in a car and then saw I was there so she was like oh thats ok I can wait... ill sit over her -- he's like NO thats ok, come with me and jsut left me standing there. Phuckin Azz hole. GRRR
