Does the engine feel like it lunges forward a little when you start it up?
To help diagnose the problem, stand in front of the engine bay and have a friend give it
a little gas while parked, see if the motor moves much more than it should. This can be an indication of failing motor mounts.

is it shaking from loose.. or shaking because its running bad- like if a coil went bad and was only running on 5?

Did you do anything to it before this happened?

the motor mount is barely noticable as being broken most of the time, look under the car up at the mount for a fluid leak from the mount itself

Just wanted to confirm whether this is the best way to diagnose a bad motor mount or not. I'd simply like to know for future reference so I'm not giving other members bad advice. Thanks

Just got my motor mounts replaced on Saturday. I got my tranny replaced in sept and I felt this rumble only when I was at a dead stop never any other time. There was only one real sign I had a puddle in my driveway (hyrdolic fluid) but I never saw it leak so I guess it happened at night. I happy that it got fixed it feels so much better. They gave me a 09 tl I HATED it. I couldn't wait to get my car back.

Just had the same problem on my 2000 TL. Two motor mounts and both front axles (NEW, not rebuilt ones) fixed it completely. Also got an alignment done while it was in the shop.

You need to do this in drive with a foot on the brake. The engine needs to be under load, not just revving while parked.

That's the TL's high horsepower making the car shake. Its normal.

On a serious note, good luck with getting your problem fixed!
