Question Help with driving/Fog lights

We recently purchased a new 2001 TL. Shortly thereafter, we inquired about adding a fog light option. We were amazed that no such option is available from the dealer.

Can someone advise about which of the aftermarket systems is best suited for the TL.

Also, where should they be mounted - in the grille area, or outboard in the Black plug areas?

Any and all help is appreciated.

Thanks Wayne and Judy

mounting it depends on your personal preference. if you mount in in the fake fog light holes (where the black plastic thing is), you might have to cut them out to make the fog lights fit.

Thanks a lot. My wife and I are new to this aftermarket stuff. Guess it's our age. Do you agree that the PIAA systems are the better. I have looked them up, and can't believe the price they are asking for the HID equipment. Wouldn't the Super white fog systems work for most situations?

i am sure the super white ones work fine. there is a PIAA model that matches the TL's headlights pretty good but i forgot which one...if you really want to be consistent, then go for the HID ones. sylvania makes a pair for around $500-700

Lightbulb

You can do the 1000X or 1100X Super white fogs which will match the HID color, the 1500 DRIVING series in clear With a super white bulb or you can do the 1700X fogs in Super White.

Welcome and Good Luck.

Fogs are just the beginning. Have fun.

I used to have the PIAA 1700x and IMO they are the closest to our HID. The average price for them with installation is @ $225. They are a little on the expensive side because they are really good and last a long time. I installed my fogs in the grill area.
