HELP!! Mant. Reqrd.! LIGHT !!

Aight so my moms car is a '99 TL.

Her maintainance required light stays on while driving. It flickers once when you first turn the car on.

Does that just mean that the car needs to come in because she has hit one of those BS mile marks where she should bring her car in for a "routine checkup" or is there something actually wrong???

I think I know where the reset button is but I dont want to reset it if there is a chance that there is something actually wrong...

I have a Maxima and some dude made a site where you can check the ECU codes with. Is there anything like that for TLs online?

My guess because it only flickered once and there was no pattern of pulses or anything was that its just a BS light....but someone let me know....

thanks!

It just means that **** hit a checkup date. Every the closer you get to the every 7500 interval the longer it flashes when you start the car. Once it hits that 7500 interval it flashes and then stays lit. If you read your manual it will let you know how to clear it. I think you turn the key to position 2 and hold reset and i forget the other button. They are the buttons that control the trips. Hold them for 10 sec and turn the car on and that should disappear...

Hope that helps...

push and hold the reset button and trip button at the same time then turn your key to the run position (dont start it) and hold the buttons in for around 10 sec, the maintinence required light will go off. its in the manual also, its supposed to be reset every oilchange, or at maintinence intervals
