Headlight or ignitor

I have an 2002 TL. The passenger side headlight went out. However, when I shut the lights off and turned them on again the headlights worked fine.

Is my HID bulb going out, or is it another issue, like the balast or ignitor?

Thanks for your input.

try swapping the bulbs to see if the problem still persist. Then you can start narrowing down between bulb, ignitor or ballast.

I just had this same problem. Fix was to buy ballasts online (cheaper) and then just wire them into your system, bypassing the OEM ones. I spent $200 and got 2 ballasts and two bulbs, brand was OMNI I think, made in Japan. Perfect stock look too.

Thanks for all the information.

I went online and saw the multiple opportunities to buy the necessary parts much cheaper than a dealer.

I will get the necessary parts and work on the fix.
