Steering Wheel

How hard/easy is it to replace the steering wheel in a 99 TL? I just got a woodgrain wheel (finally) and need to put it on.

Should be easy but you also need a steering wheel puller tool.

yes..its easy to remove..but if he's putting a different year on
he has to make sure its single stage...i mean if he wants air-bag.

why? i assume the airbag is being swapped to the new steering wheel, yes?

a single stage or dual stage airbag will bolt up fine to the same wheel.

Yes the airbag will be swapped also. The steering wheel is from an 01-02 TL.

Ahhh well since you don't need the puller then you'll have no problems Jamaun. Just be sure to unplug the negative terminal and let it sit for 30 secs then you can start cracking down on the wheel. Can't wait to see it on Sun.

yeah.. but not any year wheel would fit correctly into
his 99 air-bag.?..now that we know its 01-02 there should be
no prob..i just started reading up on this when op started
the thread...so i'm not really sure..

all i had to do is type steering wheel in to the search bar..

no real tools necessary for it. Remove the bolt then pull from the left then right (repeat as necessary) and it will come right off. I have had mine off before. Its easy.

It'll probably still be in the box.

actually more like 5 minutes, takes a little longer for the capacitors to discharge then you think, but easy to do though, just disconnect the battery first thing, then start pulling out the other tools and such, should pass that time easily

The before picture is about a year old and the weather was nice so I had my carpet floor mats in. I just got the new stereo a few months ago and I haven't taken the all weather mats out yet. Thanks for the comment!
