Headlight has purple tint
So after researching on here I find out that my headlight is probably about to go. The driver's side HID is giving off a purple tint. If I keep the lights off for a while and then turn them on they are both "white" but the driver's side slowly fades to purple.
Is it the bulb or the ballast? And where is the best place to buy the replacement setup, HIDExtra.com?

I know DDM Tuning sells their bulbs for $15. A couple people on here have run them in the OEM stock with success.

6000 loses a lot of white light in front of the car
5000 is a good compromise
4300 was stock and gives the most actual light on the road surface
higher colors pick up the reflecto paint in road line markings

I will get the 5000k bulbs then. I like the light output with the stock bulbs now, but just want a little more "white" light.

^ awesome price. for me, i'd rather stick with the oem bulbs. the philips 4300k d2r bulbs. i'd only settle for 5000k if i couldn't find those philips bulbs for a good price. function > form
but let's see some pictures after you have them installed

You'll be fine...5K is plenty light output and a little bluer/less OEM. Which is what I dig.
Personally, I would have gone for the DDM, raptor kit, 30 bucks with lifetime warranty and I would have just kept the ballast/ignitors as extras for the future.
But supporting site vendors is great too!

there is no problem with running aftermarket anything...you plug it in, it turns on, it has the same or similar draw and you're good. I helped a friend use DDM for his low beams on his 03 TL...it came out perfect, no leaks...no condensation and best of all, cost him 30 instead of 300.

Arghh...didn't realize I needed the "Security" Torx screwdriver to get the old bulb out. Hopefully they sell them at Advance Auto Parts or something. I tried to use a regular torx t-20, but that didn't work
