do a search on the board and i think you'll find alot of unhappy people with stone headers and probably an equal number of unhappy people with megans. i think the stones are a little more problematic though with resonance and leaking. i just got megans. i love em. awesome headers. search my user name and you should find my dyno post from 3 weeks ago.

i bought mine on ebay for around $260 shipped.

I have the Stone Racing Headers. Bought them from SSAUTOCHROME(ebay ID). I've had absolutely no problems with them. I believe(from what I researched), the people with issues are from previous batches. Apparently, the new batch is fine. But again, EVERYONE's experience with these aftermarket headers(megan and stone) will be different since each is individually welded(ie quality issues).

what are you talking about??? those problems were with the first batch...mine are from the 3rd and are perfect after 1 year of use - I actually see nearly everyone with Megans complain about noise and resonance and poor fitment.

Really the only way to be 100% sure you will have 0 problems is to dish out the $$$ for Comptech headers

alphawerks headers go for around $500..
is it better quality than megan or stone headers?
i really dont want any resonance or fitment problem with headers but i dont wanna spend
$1000 for comptech..
i think its too expensive..
but i would spend $200~$300 more for alphawerks if they're bettery quality than megan or stones..
i wouldnt mind buying megan or stone headers if they dont have ne problem but too many
different posts...some saying no problem some saying real big issues about resonance and fitment...
and i cant find where to buy those stone headers...
anybody?

Like people have said...with stone and megan they are hand welded - so you dont really know for sure untill you put them on, but both brands have updated their design and I know the current stone headers work perfectly and Im pretty sure the newer Megans are fine also

Megans will have no issues as long as installed properly. I took extra careful time in examining and tightening the bolts. Alphaworks would work, but if I went that far, I'd rather go get Comptechs. Make sure you buy Megan's from a reputable source, such as authorized Megan dealers. They come with a 1 year warranty so if anything goes wrong, you get a replacement part or whole replacement. IMO, the problems people are having with the new batch may be improper installation. Everyone who bought the 4th batch with me have had no problems at all. PM jakethebomb on v6p for 210 shipped on headers. The group buy over there is still going. He's the reputable dealer I'm talking about and tell him BiggyMcWang sent you.

I would go for Comptech, then Alpha Werks, then Megans. Comptech if u have the dough...AlphaWerks b/c the accordsv6 forums have been using them for awhiles and no fitment issues...and then Megans.

I have stones, there is noticeable resonance, not that bad, but its there. Fitment was okay, but the gain was great(big difference). www.SSautochrome.com has them for 300.00 the welds were good. I'd get them again.

um, i thought you just said stones were fine now? why not just tell him to buy stones? save the poor guy some money. although i would have bought comptechs too if i had the extra cash to burn.

Comptech is by far the best but so is the price. Best bet would to buy used for around 500-600 if you can find one. Think about it, for 1 thousand dollars, after depreciation hits, you lost 400-500.
But if you buy a 300 header, when you sell it used, you can still get at least 150 back bringing the actual cost to 150ish.

OU sig is right. Comptech's are the best but there 1199.00 that's a shitload of money to shell out for headers that don;t give you any more power than stones. The 3rd batch of stones are good. Gain is very noticeable, resonance is there, but I have to retorque my rear downpipe bolts too, so that's my problem. If you get stones for 300.00 think about it, the new ones are good and with the extra 899.00 you can get a CAI, crank pulley and halfway to a magnaflow exhaust. Get the stones and don't worry, they'll be fine.
