Question How do you reset the maint required light?

I went to the dealer to have it done a while ago, but I don't remember how to do it. Does anyone know how to reset this light so that it stops blinking in my damn face(LOL)?

Good question. I have the same thing blinking at me for my 45K mile checkup. I am going to skip their rip off checkup and do some of it myself and just pay for the things I cant do.

it is supposed to come on every 7500 miles to let you know that you should change your oil. Hence it is not necessary to change your oil everytime it says so in that little blue book you get for maintenance.

As the post just above mine said, you need to press the two buttons BEFORE turning on the car. Then keep holding them until the light goes out. Takes about 15 seconds for this to happen.

Mafioso, I got a chuckle out of your very subtle message about reading the manual.

Instructions discussed numerous times in other threads and directions are written quite clearly in many posts above, as well as in your owner's manual.

And yes, it is meant as a visual reminder to have your car serviced (oil & filter change).

Hope it works for ya!
