header install?

first off, let me start by saying i am sorry if this is posted in the wrong section, i dont usually open new threads, so this is kind of new to me . so my issue is i searched and searched for a DIY install for the XS headers on a 2g TL-S. I have the neccessary hardware, the bolts i mean. so my main questions are, where can i get new gaskets and which exact ones should i ask for, and if anybody could post a DIY for this install. Im not a newb, so dont think that. Ive done enough motor work, but just need something to go off of. and also, the bolts that shud be used are the grade 8 heat treated 10MM x 40MM right? thanks an advance for all your future help! you guys rock..

if you received the XS-power headers, the gaskets should come with it. for any other brand, i'm not to sure. u can get new gaskets from the dealer. don't kno which exact ones but somebody will show up with a diagram and show you which one.

for quick DIY of unbolting:

you could either start by raising the car or not.
- loosen the bolts that hold the stock heads to engine. (of course take off heat sheild too)
- if u haven't lifted it, lift now and get under your beauty.
- if u haven't touched them bolts. spray some pb-blaster / freeze-off for a good 3 minutes or so. i used freeze off. sprayed on for about 2 minutes and waited a minutes and tapped the bolts(all) with a wrench.
- and then loosen bolts connecting headers and catalytic convert.
- loosen bolts that connect head and downpipe.
- then with a help of a friend holding the downpipe, screw off the bolts connecting downpipe to anything.
- downpipe would fall down if a friend isn't there. i used some pillows or bricks to keep the downpipe from falling
- with downpipe gone, i got back to the top and took off the rest of the bolts on heads and pulled them out..

putting everything back on is just going backwards.

if u got XS-P, they provide all the bolts and stuff.. comptech should provide new ones too.

here's diy i went off of

have fun!

there should be threads about wat bolt you'll need.

Buy OEM gaskets from the dealer. The O-rings are ok to use, but the gaskets are terrible. So, go to your nearest dealer for the gaskets.

The manifold gaskets dont need to be replaced. Re-use the stock manifold gaskets.

Thats why every one that does DIY stuff should have an old blanket and use that. It works great to lay on on the ground while under teh car, it works great to lay on the motor so you can lay on top for stuff like that.
