hey what's up....i hardwired my V1....easy as hell, JUST REQUIRES A LOT OF PATIENCE!!

the only panel i removed was the pillar panel......from dash to headliner.....partially removed actually...just enough to run wires through....then shoved them as far into the crack between the dashboard and door til they were invisible, then into the fusebox....took me an hour....i was extra carefull....hope this helps. -peace

thanks for the help bro, i mount my detector closer to the dash then the roof, i think it would look sloppy if i just ran it across the dash into the fuse box, but i might do what you did and mount it up high.

Isnt it true if you mount it high it picks up lazers better
and when you mount it low it picks up K, Ka better

btw how do you remove the pillar?
and once you get the wires in the pillar do they stick out at all when goin to the fusebox which i have no idea where it is

its the other way around for the radar/laser.

i have mine mounted lower. and ran my hard wire kit around the edge of the dash. i didint have to remove any panlels. i just used a paint mixing stick to push the wire down.

i mounted the remote(conciled) display where the cig lighter is (stays hidden)

since my RD and concealed disp are close, i ran both the wires through the pillar...gotta say though, i get AWESOME radar range on the window VS when i had it clipped to my visor.......that TINT strip doesn't block/reduce the radar reception.

EDIT: Oh yeah, AND it's invisable from the outside cuz of the tint strip....

What kind of detector do you have?

also being in IL and CO most of the time there isnt alot of lazers....at least i dont think there are, should i mount it midway up the windshield or should i get a visor mount?

Shawn was it hard getting the wire into the roofline then over to the pillar?
also, your sure about the tint not affecting range?

Since I live in VA I mounted the remote display just under the ash tray. Granted I have to look down briefly when the detector goes off but it's nicelly concealed. I have the dector mounted snug up next to the rear view mirror on the passenger side.

no actually, it was hard to make it stay in the roofline....you just have to feel around and find a ridge of headliner, or some other thing up there to tuck the wire under....actually it's not that hard....the pillar cover is held together with clips....it's not hard at all...

yes the tint is not going to affect your range....before, my hardwire, i had it on the RIGHT side of my rearview mirror BELOW the tint......had same range.....just make you you don't clip it on your visor.
