H&R OE vrs Sports

Ok i've decided to go with H&R springs but want to see both the oe's and sports on stock tires and rims for a tlp 2000. Does anyone have this setup and can they show me pics?

Im from toronto and ive go quoted for $550 (Can) installed at a local performance shop.

Help....I really need to drop my car. Is there anyone from TO that works well on our cars....

I don't have a TL but a CL is the same. I am using H&R sport springs and it leaves about 2 finger gap all around. Comfortable ride. I got mine all done for 450. Here's a pic:

all h&rs provides smooth rides, but I wouldn't recommend the sports because I personally think it is alittle too low. I have 'em on my tl with 18s and stock shocks and it rubs (not often...but sometimes on fast turns) If I were you, I'd go with oes man... because you will definitely enjoy the ride quality both provides, but not the rubbings after the sports gets settled.

The sport springs are rated to drop 1.75...its' more like 2.5 when it is settled down...usually take a couple of months to settle down. right now...i have a BARELY a 1 finger gap between my tire and fender

I don't think the sports are too low. I have those and I still will and would go lower. The ride is still smooth w/ stock shocks. For me, the gap is about a little less than 2 finger gap all around.

I'm thinking about getting an OE drop too. I have stock tires + rims. But someone quoted me that it could be done around only 400$. Where did you get quoted? $550 is too much

i have the H&R sport springs w/ stock shocks. We just installed them last week. It's a comfortable ride and i haven't noticed any problems. The only thing is speed bumps and driveways, take them at a diagnal angle at a slow speed. I got my springs for $115 and installed them w/ me and a couple of friends. They're very easy to install....

But the other side of me wants that dropped sports look...what a dilemna...

290$US shipped. About 450$CAN. aAbout the same price as the drop. I chose 6000k over it at first. But now instead of spending 350$ on new headlight assembly, I chose to drop with OE.

barely one finger gap? i've had mine since early April and drive everyday so i assume that its fully settled. I still have 2 finger gap running the stock 17 rims. Are you running 18s?

thanks for the info I might visit Options auto soon. I need to find a place that works on our cars regularly....I think I will go with the OE's too and wait for the settling to get a little lower. I guess with the avg height to expect the drop is .50 more than stated...making it 1.25f and 1.00r...

TLdragon are you sure you going to go with OEs, you might be disappointed. If you planning on getting 18's or 19's then you can consider OE else if you sticking with 17's i think you should go with sports, else the drop will not be that noticeable with OEs. Do you know anyone with OE and Sport drop so you can compare?

I haven't seen anything to compare the 2 but from what I am getting feedback on is that the sports drop will settle to 2.25's or something and that will be too low for me. I will probably sticking with 17's in the future. Plus I think I would need camber kit for the sports drop...and my shocks would go alot sooner with that drop..anyone can correct me if Im wrong...

mine is all settled and F1.75 R.1.5 right now. no camber kit needed for me. no rubbing either. I've seen Race on a TL and it has 1 finger gap at front and none in the back. The guy told me that no camber kit was needed and no rubbing for him and he is using 17's.

23wt...I believe TL's are more heavier than your CL..so the drop maybe nice for your car. I am still up in the air with the drop so I can go either way...

How are you guys measuring your "finger gap" ?

23wt from your pics your car looks more like a 1 finger gap when keeping your finger parallel to the ground.

Get the H&R Sports springs...it's not too low...I'm on H&R race springs and it's just right (no finger gap whatsoever). F=2.2", R=1.75. From my understanding, OE drop is not very noticeable...
you're better off with sport springs.

I have H&R sports. Now I've 1.5 finger gap at front, 1 at the back. Looks pretty good even with stock rims. hemants can be the judge of that

I'm thinking about getting 18x7.5 with an offset of 45 Konig Absolutes with Nitto 555 225/40/18 tires, which H&R springs should I go with the OE or the sport? I DO NOT want it to rub at all, and I will be driving my car all year round, and I live in michigan. Any suggestions?

Has anyone else rubbed with H&R Sport Springs with stock shocks on 17's? I have 17's and want these springs, but am worried about rubbing.
Thanks...

If you are talking about stock 17s then no. ALot of people have them on stocks...but on aftermarket 17s? Then it all depends on the offset. I tihkn you go the question reveresed...instead of asking if youll rub with springs, ask if you will rub with this XXX wheel.

I havea a 2001 V6 Accord, identical part no's for aftermarket springs as CL/TL. I have 225/45/17 rubber on 17x8 wheels. I want to drop it as long as ride quality doesn't become too harsh, I want say a 2 finger gap. Stock gap is like 3-3.5 fingers in front.

I want to retain my stock shocks, just want lowering springs. Maybe a body kit one day, but not yet. Plz plz suggest.

I live in Mississauga,Ontario... Any good shops in the GTA that will install and sell for under $500 before taxes? A good installation is essential to me. Thanks.

i know with H&R, there is an "even" look to it but have you considered what the car will look like with at least 1 person in the rear or with a subwoofer in the trunk? then, the car will look like its sagging in the back. thats why i decided that i would go with comptech's since their "raked" look would look decent with no weight in the back and have an "even" look when there are people in the rear. what do you guys think?
